Even the best women in football are around conference standard, most conference footballers would be grateful for those amounts

Sergio Aguero and Aaron Wilbraham are both strikers same job title should they get equal pay? Case closed.

To be honest, wouldn't even credit them at conference standard, team I play for on a Sat had a friendly against Donny Belles earlier in the year and we beat them 7-3, we're an all right team, but something like 10 rungs below the Vanarama Conference, two of their lasses had England caps - one of them over a hundred.....they were technically very good, and to be fair kept the ball and moved it about better than we did, but we killed them with pace and power, a Vanarama team would annihilate any team in the WSL

So what exactly does a female stripper have to do with equal pay in sport? Rubbish analogy. Must try harder.

That's a USP right there. You can probably charge more because of it!

Let women and men compete against each other if women are supposedly deserving of the same money. How many female winners do you think there would be at Wimbledon, golf or any athletics events?
Venus Williams was instrumental in getting equal money at Wimbledon. Would she take on Federer or Nasal in a winner takes all game? Of course not.

I suspect most male professional tennis players can't beat Federer or Nadal and Williams could probably beat quite a lot of male professional tennis players.

The point made in the article was not about men being equal to women in performance terms, but within the same sport the huge difference in prize money. Be it cliff diving, darts, snooker, tennis or football.

I don't think women should be allowed to enter a physical sport with men, for a start men have an obvious advantage as we are more physical and have less vulnerable organs, and secondly because I think most men would find it hard to properly challenge a woman. No ones going to go flying into a last ditch tackle to stop a goal if there's a chance you could take your studs down a woman's leg.

I see no problem with allowing cross sex competition in sports such as tennis, cricket, golf etc. although I suspect men are still at an advantage in tennis and cricket again due to better physical build.

So, you think she would be in favour of having to compete against men for her money? Her earnings would drop somewhat. No titles and without those no lucrative sponsorship and advertising deals.

Ignoring your error regarding tennis, why would you expect women to be paid the same if their sport doesn't have the same audience?

There is one very vulnerable organ men have, or two to be accurate.

Equal pay is equal when men and women play the same amount of sets in a match. Thus far, women are getting paid the same in tennis for doing less work.

All for a better paid female kitman; could wash the strips, sort the socks and clean the boots, all at the same time - it wouldn't cost more though as she'd be part-time due to her multi-tasking. Yep, sport underestimates women in sport. :smiley-finger007:

Well yes, but it is tucked away in a relatively safe position, a crunching 50-50 or a shot blocked by the midriff could cause severe damage to a ladies internal baby glands.

Should the tennis authorities decide women should play 5 sets then I'm sure they would and could. Tennis is perhaps one of the only sports where there is an obvious difference in time a game is played. It's hardly our fault its the way it is.

It's hardly 'our' fault that women's football is crap and that nobody watches it.

Women in tennis are getting paid to do less work, so it's not really equality.
