Its quite simple: Injuries. 2 of our most creative players Giacc and Alvarez are injured, Rodwell looks short of match sharpness too. Defence has no cover because of injuries either.

To me Wickham does not look interested anymore, we need to sell him and Altidore and buy a new striker who?? god knows, we probably need to take a punt on someone unproven from abroad and hope they turn out like Benteke or Pelle.

Right now I would give Fletcher a run in the side and tell him he has until Jan to prove himself or we will bring a new first choice option in.

What is going on with your defence recruitment? We managed to bring in Dawson, Robertson and Maguire to improve/add some depth.

**** knows. Still wouldn't want Dawson though, slow defenders are our problem, adding more wouldn't be addressing the problems we have. We were linked with Robertson for ages then it went quiet this summer.

As an outsider who will be instantly told to shut up due to the team I support I have to say:

I really don't think Lee Cattermole looks interested at the moment, his performances have been lacking to say the least. I seriously can't see you going down though! There are worse teams apart from Burnley and QPR in this league than Sunderland.

Couldn't disagree more tbh and I was one of his biggest critics at the start of last season.

I think you're wrong, he played well yesterday, did what he does well meaning he's had one bad game this season. His stats are up there with his rivals for the England DM position, you're just wrong, he's better than ever.

The general premise to this thread has been our inability to see off the opposition, so I am sure we would all like to read you solution to our predicament so far, followed with a prediction of how we can start producing wins with what is available at the moment.

People on the field who can do something 'special' to turn a game, carving out an opportunity for goal ...do we have anyone?

Johnson and Whickham when they can be arsed
Alvarez and Giaccarini when they're fit.
    Apart from them, not really.

our problem is the defence and the fact our two creative players are injured... and Seb Larsson, imo. :)

Sunderland have beaten only Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion and Cardiff City at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League in 2014.

That's similar to Steve Bruce in his last year here.
