Each game, on its own, looks like a winnable game but what they've managed to do is be consistent - big big difference. I actually felt more confident of getting points at Anfield and Emirates than I do at the KC against Southampton. They won't underestimate us and they're a very solid outfit. Will happily be wrong though!
Some of us are a pessimistic bunch, aren't we? I'm not saying we will coast to a win; we have a tough game on Saturday, but I think we have good reason to be optimistic of taking at least 4 points from the next 2 games. If we can't be confident after taking 2 points from trips to Anfield and The Emirates, then we never will be.
How did Citeh get on against West Ham? Or United against Swansea? We've beaten two of the top 6 away from home. Still going to be a tight game against you lot, though!
Bar Man City/Chelsea/Arsenal, Soton were the best side we faced last season. All power to ‘em. I’m totally neutral toward Soton.
Anyone think it might be worth man-marking Tadic? He pulls all the strings for them, and as he's more of a passer than dribbler and isn't lightning fast I reckon he'd be quite markable.
Just something to point out that I meant to write originally... What difference will Southampton playing Stoke away on Wednesday night make before they travel up here? Reduces their preparation time considerably.
Yes and our fans will wait outside the stadium for him but this time do the job properly and kick 10 bells of **** into him unlike those brummy ****s who just mouthed off.
Keep it tight at the back and tigerish in midfield so Tadic doesn't get many chances to ping balls to Pelle. They've only conceded 4 in 9 so I reckon 1-0 to us if we do get the win.
They've only conceded 4 in 9 but we've scored in all but one, a lot of those having scored 2 goals. I think we'll hammer them 2-1.
Strong Southampton side tonight, most will be playing Saturday I would think. #SaintsFC team vs @stokecity: Forster, Clyne, Fonte (c), Gardos, Targett, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, S. Davis, Tadić, Long, Pellè.
I look at this as a great test; whatever their fixture list you still have to beat the team in front of you, they've been doing that, they'll be just as tough as Liverpool or Arsenal right now Still think we're good enough to win however 1-0 Abel
Somehow, listening to Ronald Koeman tonight I don't think he, or his team will buy into the tired excuse of 'extra days to prepare'. Refreshing to hear him say that their intention (in the League Cup) is to try and 'come to the final' as it gets them a shot at Europe. Pretty sure that someone schooled at Ajax and Barcelona, will be more than up for it against us. Very tough game for us on sat dee, make no mistake.
