    I wouldn't worry, it seems everyone is being linked with Bridge at the moment. A couple of days ago apparently he was coming to Liverpool.

    Although he's not the best left back, there is a lot worse out there. Konchesky is an example of a **** left back.

    Too lazy to read through 3 pages of comments so sorry if this has already been said..

    But c'mon, we were obviously going to be linked with Bridge after City went for Clichy.

    Clichy to City
    Jose to Arsenal
    Bridge to NUFC.

    Piss easy to come to that conclusion.

    If Jose goes we're not going to find a player half as good to replace him, he's a real star and we're very lucky to have had him stick with us through relegation.

    Wayne Bridge, massive step down from Jose Enrique but I don't see a queue of top class LBs looking to sign for a mid-table clubs.

    Domestically at least, our options are Bridge, Konchesky, Taylor or someone like Elokobi. We're not going to improve at the LB position, I don't care how much money we have, it's all about damage limitation if Enrique goes so we shouldn't be too harsh on whoever may step into his boots.

    Any more word on M'Bengue?

    Spot on!

    Why the debate about whether we will be going backwards with regard to the LB position. As Mod Face says Enrique is class as proven by the fact he is being linked with Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern. We won't get anybody as good to replace him so what is there to argue about.

    We will have to try and find the best we can that is affordable and wants to come to us. Bridge is quite a good player but I doubt he will like the wages we will offer so I think the chances of him joining us are slim. At 30 he would only be a temporary solution anyway and certainly is not one for the future.

    Hopefully Carr has spotted some hot prospect on his travels. Or we can hope for even more and dream that Enrique will stay with us.

    Personally, I'm not complaining because Bridge is a step down from Enrique, I'm against the move because Bridge was spectacularly bad for West Ham.

    Think James Perch bad - actually we could save ourselves a few quid and put Perch at LB as he did decent against Tottenham..

    I'm not expecting Baines or any very good left back but signing Bridge is like signing Cole in place of Carroll.

    Very promising talent in Shane Ferguson who can play LB or LW but he's quite slight so not really a physical presence so better suited to LW
