MATCH PREVIEW: QPR V ASTON VILLA

ASTON Villa make the trip to Loftus Road on Monday night, as Rangers play host to the Villains under the lights in front of the live Sky Sports cameras.

Buoyed by an improved performance, if not result, against Liverpool last time out, Harry Redknapp’s charges will be keen to go one better and gain a valuable victory in front of the Hoops faithful.

Rangers, of course, succumbed to a last-gasp 3-2 defeat versus the Reds, with a 95th minute own goal handing the visitors all three points in a remarkable conclusion in W12.

Villa, meanwhile, head to the capital on the back of four straight defeats, in which they’ve failed to score a single goal.

Despite an excellent start to the season, which saw them collect 10 points from a possible 12 from their opening four fixtures, Paul Lambert’s side have struggled in recent weeks.

The loss of England ace Fabian Delph to a shoulder injury has only served to compound their woes, with the midfielder set to be sidelined until the festive period following recent surgery.

However, the return to fitness of influential front-man Christian Benteke – who has made two appearances in the last fortnight – is sure to come as a boost for Lambert and co., as Villa look to find a way back to their winning formula from the opening month of the campaign.

I'm still getting over the Liverpool game. Don't now if I'm optimistic, pessimistic or bouncing between the two so violently I'm getting dizzy. Will be watching, through my hands and from behind the sofa though. Come on the hoops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game is officially sold out. Wish I was there, but the TV will just have to do!

Yes, I'm really looking forward to the match that is televised here, starting at 5:00pm local time, rather than usual 4:00pm, since our haven't gone back yet, so more time after work to get home for the game.

I only hope we can continue where we left off against Liverpool, and hopefully with some better luck we have the potential to score a few goals tonight under the floodlights. A 2-0 lead at HT would be a nice change, rather than always chasing a game from behind.

If we don't perform well and lose, this board is going to be a pretty ugly place later on and TF will have some tough decisions to make.

McCarthy not even on the bench, so he must be either sick or injured. Hopefully Rob has soothed his tonsils with plenty of ice cream!

Didn't Ned pick up a slight hamstring pull against Liverpool?

McCarthy seemed to finish the Liverpool game healthy, so I assume the thigh injury happened in training?

Suppose so, what I read only said that he has a thigh injury. I think that he might have played tonight.
