I thought Januzaj played well, but Di Maria was so much better when he went to the left. I'd prefer him to play that side. He got the better of Ivan and will more likely to do the same with Zabaleta. Also Kompany on that side of CB will be no match for ADM.

Di maria in midfield please. Left of a diamond. Its where he excels.

Very good winger, one of the best in the world left midfield.

Need to exploit citys weaknesses like they do to us. They are slow in midfield and are easily exposed if you make yaya defend. Keep someone on silva as well to completely nullify their midfield.

Aguero would remain a threat though but much less.

They tend to play Clichy on the left if they're up against a decent winger. I think they think he's better defensively, personally I don't rate him. It's just an observation I've noticed, so I wouldn't be surprised if Clichy starts.

I meant our left, their right. Surely that would be Zabaleta. Clichy on their left against Januzaj? Jan hasn't been great on that side tbh. I don't think he'd peg Clichy back, and I'd be worried about Silva on that side as well.

We don't have a decent left back
Cluchy is just diabolical and kolorov can't defend
Our best left back is zabaleta

    That about sums it up.

Dont worry though. We have no centrebacks.

How do you see it going pplf

If utd target our left side of defence we could be in trouble and we've not played well all season
At least it should be a competitive game unlike the 2 derbies last year, particularly the old Trafford game where utd had basically given up which was a terrible indictment of moyes management.
Obviously Utds defence is their weakness as well so it's likely to be an open game with plenty of goals
If I had to put money on I'd bet 2-2

Interesting as I thought Silva would be a constant threat for anyone down that side. But don't worry we'll probably put Valencia there and your left will be fine.

Can see another draw here too. Think our attack is showing it can trouble anyone. Whats missing is the goals (weird really). The chances are one after the other and as soon as the strikers start to put them away the better for us.

Our fullbacks are playing well. Shaw is getting better every game and rafael for me is behind di maria as our best player. Hes been great. Smalling looked composed yestersay but rojo is a loon. He is however very capable when players run at him.

Pplf, are you likely to play balls over the top? Thats been our biggest weakness. We cannot cope with long balls. I dont see city as that sort of side.

Moyes isnt in charge and nor is fergie so valencia starting would shock me.

You know full well lvg will play an attacking side and look to dominate the ball. We outplayed chelsea with only one midfielder.... Things are happening

Our goals will return when RVP has a partner up front again. Agree about Rafael (I would say Herrera also) but Silva running at him is a concern. I would like Mata on the right of that diamond you mentioned but will he track back enough <yikes>

We never play long balls over the top, vast majority of attacking play goes through Silva or from out wide but we lack the quality delivery from out wide that di Maria gives utd

To be honest a draw against City at the Etihad will be a massive result. A good toe to toe match will show the improvement made since last season. Under Moyes United just couldn't compete with City who were clearly at least one level above us.

Like the chavs match yesterday, the performance for me would be more important than the result.

Milner and Zab link up very well on the right side of the box and are very dangerous.
