Are you saying this is the biggest elaborate plan for Bernie to get back an F1 seat? 57 years in the making will 2015 be his year?

<laugh> I doubt he'd survive the G force through the first corner. Then again, I sometimes suspect he died years ago and was re-animated like a cross between the Six Million Dollar Man and Davros from Dr. Who and the Daleks.

CVC has made an estimated $8.2bn from its investment in Formula One since 2006 but its profits have not been reinvested in the sport. Formula One itself is also culpable. The teams have gone their own selfish ways and their failure to manage the cost of the development and supply of this year’s engines has been a major factor in the crisis.

He's no Dalek. Dalek's only know hatred, whilst Bernie only knows love...of money.

The thought occurs to me that maybe Bernie saw this coming and that's why he opened up the grid to new entries for next season.

That's how cynical this whole disgraceful situation has made me.

London High Court announces Caterham debts of £16.2M (UPDATE 14:19 GMT)

With Caterham having applied for administration last week, the London High Court has shown a list of around 400 crediitors that the racing team owes monies to. The Anglo-Malaysian team is shown to have debts totalling £16.2 million with the prinicpal amount being against Renault which stands at about £7.4M. The unpaid bills are for the provision of the French company’s V6 Turbo engine as used by Caterham this season.

In addition to the aforementioned, there are the following: £754,090 to the Total oil company; £711,134 to Dell Computer’s; £111,281 is owed to McLaren Applied Technologies and the last significant debt is for £20,942 which is outstanding to Formula One and Events Hospitality Services, a service company headed by Bernie Ecclestone.

Other smaller creditors include the Haymarket Media Group which are publishers of many retail magazines including Autosport. The Group was set up in the 50’s and remains privately owned by former Tory Deputy Prime Minister, Michael Heseltine.

And it all began with a pack of lies from a Charlatan who had no intention of ever concluding a transaction with Fernandes.

Re: the above, I went to try and find a comparison of prize money, in order to work out how screwed each team is. I found this:

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...-what-are-the-rewards-per-race-and-per-season

I can't even begin with this (though I will say it is worthy of discussion as to the relative merits of the prize money system), but I *think* Marussia MIGHT - just MIGHT - be able to survive if they can reach the end of the season and pick up their prize money for 9th in the constructors'. Caterham are f**ed pretty much every which way - even if they could overhaul Sauber the prize money wouldn't cancel out their debts.

With teams going bankrupt they'll have more ammo for sticking with the freeze.

Am i missing something here? what does a photograph really tell anybody about the engine? there's nothing on show there that isn't already known about and there's not a hope in hell anybody can work out the internal flow rates of the heads, profile of the cams, any internal trickery etc going by an exterior pic.

Everybody already knew about their turbo positioning etc long ago.

A bit of a nothing photo tbh.

The photos have been released now because it Mercedes won the Dewar engineering excellence award. I don't think Mercedes would have accepted the award if it meant giving away tech secrets.
