Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Clint Dempsey is tipped to make a return to the English Premier League on loan during the MLS off-season with Aston Villa, Queens Park Rangers, and Stoke City all ready to make an offer, Mirror reports.

Currently playing for Seattle Sounders, the 31-year-old striker is back on radar of a number of teams with USA coach Jurgen Klinsmann stated that he is encourage the move so that Dempsey could stay fit.

He said: “We want Clint to remain sharp and play in a competitive environment.”

The Premier League trio have all declared their interest in a potential loan move for the American during the past year and could once again pounce on the chance.

His most notable season in England was with Fulham from 2007-2012 where he netted 50 goals in 184 appearances for his side as he is just one of the many players hoping for a loan move in order to stay fit during the MLS break.

Why don't we send our squad to the MLS so they can stay fit, or even get fit?

Yesterday the Man Utd bench seemed full of youngsters eager for a game. Liverpool gave Sterling a first team chance at a young age and likewise Everton with Ross Barkley (after loaning him out to a few clubs). In our case, we seem to either sell our more talented youngsters (Sterling) or loan them out, then bringing in less committed players on loan (Fabio, Maiga, Keane etc.).
