Burnsey thinks the reason that Tom Ince is not getting game time is because they cannot get to an agreement with Blackpool on his fee. If he is played, and he does well and it goes to arbitration that could put up the price. I wonder if that is what is behind it, or he just isn't training well enough to get in the playing squad?
I disagree, I think he's an exciting talent, but he isn't going to get in ahead of Ben Arfa and as we aren't playing with wingers per se, there isn't a place for him. The fact he isn't making the bench suggests that Burnseys theory might be have legs.
I think if that was the case he'd never have played at all yet. Or possibly the extra spending means we have more options/less money to pay full whack.
Possibly, but they'd have allowed for a fair amount as he was quite in demand, therefore they must've been expecting to pay a fair whack.
You dont really disagree at all if you then explain your position and say he isnt going to get in ahead of Ben Arfa. In fact you do agree with me.
I was genuine excited when we sign him. I think he's a great talent. I think he has better end product then Aluko. I also find it strange strange in recent game's we've had Rosenior, McShane and Bruce. Surely we don't need that much defensive cover?
He was starting ahead of Aluko before he got dropped from the squad altogether. Players have obviously come in in his position, but I don't get how he fell behind Aluko in the pecking order. I think either Burnsy is right, or its to do with his attitude towards having so much competition for his place which hasn't impressed Bruce. But regarding Burnsy's rumour, hasn't it already gone to a tribunal? Surely there's no agreeing with Blackpool to be done?
Bruce said he was hopeful of agreeing terms with Blackpool, so it's obviously not been passed to a tribunal yet(or hadn't when he made the comments).
I thought it was a tribunal from the minute we signed him. Weird how you can get the player and then agree a fee later.
He was a free agent, but because he was under 23 then you have to pay a fee to his club, which is yet to be determined.
I've always found it odd that you have to pay for a player who doesn't belong to a any more, just cos he's young. It's a bizarre rule.
Ince is a victim of our success, when we signed him I thought he'd be a great addition but then we started signing even better players! He just has to wait for a chance and take it when it comes.
I think Ince is a better prospect than Aluko, so why not try to sell Aluko , to cover the costs of signing Ince.
Well the way you worded it I thought you meant he just wasnt good enough in general. If we switch to a 4231 I'd have him in, but as he isn't a Wb, I don't see how he will fit in. He could play in Ben Arfas position as a second striker, but I dont think that's the best place for him.
+1 but there is always a reason. It is quite possible that the tribunal situation on Ince is correct. It is also quite possible that we are playing Aluko to put him in the shop window. Sounds barmey when you want to win games; surely you play your best players? But when the differences are marginal, the financial rewards may overide the decision.....oo I love conspiracy
I mentioned something like this as a possiblity in a post a while back (can't find it now). But I really hope this isn't the case.
He slipped down the pecking order, thats all there is too it. Bruce prefers Aluko ahead of him probably based on training stats or sports science feedback, and also more experience
