Looking through the back pages of the Sid James Mouthpiece, formerly known as the Journal this morning, I had to have a right old giggle to myself. The main story revolves around the NE's second club 'leaving it to the lawyers' to resolve the contractual dispute over their latest target - Swansea City's Neil Taylor. A player who must have one of the shortest Wiki pages in football history, is in a haggling match over a £1m transfer to the barcodes. **** me it must be tough at the 'top' these days? I imagine Gordon Gecko has been drafted in to negotiate and broker such a high powered deal. Lol Other transfer news, such as the 5 new faces at the SOL this week and the negotiations with the Man Utd trio of Wes Brown, John O Shea and Darren Gibson (over 100 full international caps between them and 517 games for one of the worlds biggest football clubs to their name) for a combined £12m, fee have been marginalised as much as possible. Its going to really kill the NE press in the next few weeks as our rebuilding goes on and some household names make their way to the SOL. Contrast that with the complete unknowns and the never will Be's as the main signings joining the Sid James crew, in preparation for their 'second season syndrome' relegation dogfight. High profile DEPARTURES will be the story of the day for them before August and no one will convince me that either Barton, or Enrique, will still be there come derby day and a decent bid for Coloccini will see him go as well? Westwood, Won, Gardener, Larsson and Wickham are but the start. Maybe Brown, O Shea and Gibson next. Then its the final striking cherry on the cake to come perhaps. Every day brings new exciting developments for the Wearsiders. Every minute brings worry and uncertainty for the barcodes. Thus it should be so when we are clearly the top NE Club.
Im laughin me tits off at the skunks..theyve brought in 2 crocks (cos trust me, theyl be lucky to get a dozen games out of that Marveuax fella and BA) and another midfielder whos average at best...Bartons been heavily linked down here with Everton and Tiote is apparantly being eyed up by Mr Wenger.....it bodes well...lol
Biffa - the most interesting thing is that Bruce has obviously been working hard for several months with Quinny, formulating this summers spending. I am impressed and apologetic for doubting that it would be so. On the other hand, it strikes me that the owners of noocarsel and Alan Partridge just dont talk full stop. One minute Partridge is out stating to the press that Andy Carroll is going nowhere only to be made a tit of by Ashley by him flogging him behind his back. Now it seems to me that AP is chucking darts at a picture board of french footballers and buying whoever they stick in. This haggling for this Taylor lad is amateurish but evident that their fat mackem supporting chairman isn't giving him a ****ing pound coin over the bare minimum to spend. Quinn and Bruce though have bid £12m for the Man Utd lads, £5m for Gardener and £8m for a teenage hot prospect and we are not close to being finished yet. The 2 clubs couldn't be further apart in terms of ambition and investment and the NE barcode biased press are hating it. I'm loving it BTW! Lol
I think there's trying to get a good deal and then there's stuff like this. Talk about making it easy for people (us) to rip the piss.
Kidda, I cant believe that I managed to 'choke' over 220 post form that little fishing trip. I had very little bait on the line but **** me they were lining up to take bites out of it. Fish in a barrel or what? I'm always conservative about the reactions I may get from these little tickles but no doubts they will surpass all expectation and chomp away like billy o, albeit with gums only? Lol
Found this little nugget this morning lads. Check out the unwashed reaction. They are ****ting it. lol (Just for sombrero). http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/504491079?-11204
I've been down the dene this morning looking for pheasants with my springer spaniel. Don't know who partridge is like.
Ha! Would have liked Whickham, we don't need a keeper, not fussed about Larsson, don't know much about Gardner. Maybe you've just bought him to look after the tatties and cabbages you've got.
I think you need to be a little fairer to the skunks Cest - Fat Mike is currently having to work out how to keep as much of the Carrol cash as he can whilst looking like he is trying to improve the squad - what did Parsley say when he`d sold Carrol - something about an assurance that all the cash was going to be used to improve the squad - sold Carrol for how much (£30-35 m?), spent £4m (ish) so far on players and the rest on pies and bacon butties - all for the squad though...maybe he has a few quid left over for some ketchup... Anyone up for a bet as to how much of the cash stays with Fat Mike...I reckon a minimum of £20m - sweep stake anyone?
Apparently two blokes lost quite a few million in a Tyneside casino last week. No one know's who the hapless duo were but a witness nearby heard the fat one say to the skinny one. "That's another fine mess you've gotten me in Pardy".
Right this is not good enough. Only 20 responses since I've been out today? Come on 5-1; Badger, Chappaz, I rely heavily on your eagerness to chomp?
