Seriously, with all of these draws lately and I know we are still top but do you think we are capable of beating Junior's side Oldham or are we in for a downfall?

Our last 10 match league - performance.. D.D.W.W.D.W.D.W.W.W..

    Goals...F - 25 - A - 13.....

Do you think we can win or do you believe 3 draws in 5 games or 8 goals against is a sign of weakness..?

Just askin'.....I think we are doing brilliant..

Just a couple of months ago, some on here were saying LJ would get sacked, actually doing a good job, his old man could learn a thing or two..lol
I think it will be a close game, but I think we will just edge it........but we do need to learn how to keep a clean sheet

I think we are more than capable of winning it, and we do need a win quite badly now to re-assert our league-leader credentials.
A big performance is required by such as Freeman, Little, Agard and Bryan.

One thing is for sure. When our players are on the money we are far more than a match for anyone in this division, and I feel we will produce because we know its a mini crunch time

Are we frightened of Oldham? NO

BUT and a very big BUT. If we don't not stop conceding goals at the rate of two per game, the wheels on the bus will not wobble. They will fall off and we will then struggle even to make top six at end of season.

    Scaremongering? Moaning? No
    Concerned? Yes
How do we fix it? I don't know because this scenario is totally different to the last five years when we had poor quality, unorganised defenders.
So not a criticism of playing personnel or management. Just a realisation that something has to change if we are to still harbour expectations of automatic promotion.

    My concerns exactly.
When was the last time we DIDN'T concede 2 goals?

We now have PNE breathing down our necks with 2 games in hand - if they win those they would be ahead by 1 point and there is nothing we could do about it.

PNE two games in hand are Orient and Swindle away so hopefully they won't get much at those grounds.
But as to conceding goals I don't know, because in fairness who out of the back row would you leave out? Maybe going to flat four might do it, by bringing in Osbourne or Al Abd and losing Little, but then we could lose the ability to go forward.

Being top and unbeaten can have a draw back, where the opposition think they are going to lose so think what the hell let's relax and go for it.

imo PNE are collectively a better team than us, they certainly are defensively, they've also been in this position before and they have the best striker in the division, can see them running away with it soon

I haven't studied the games, but it would seem that our main vulnerability is to set pieces or to long range speculative efforts. IMO we need the defence to work in training on dealing with those threats. We will not eradicate the risk of conceding but would significantly reduce it.

If we win this league it will be our attack that wins it and not our defense.
We need to attack, attack, attack attack attack.
If we sit back and defend then we will lose the title.

I agree lets go for it, it really is great to watch...our first defeat will probably be something like 2-3, rather see that than 0-1, attack, attack, attack, so entertaining, that way we will win more than we lose with the set up we play.

I don't disagree with your last statememnt, but have been saying over the past 3 games or so.. "we aint that strong!" even commenting on the Florest situation that was!

Oldham are on 25 points and have taken 10 from teams in top half the division and 15 from bottom half teams take away their first 4 games and they are doing very well 23 points from 11 games = 2.1 pts per game whilst we have 25 from 11 ! However they are very tight away from home 1 - 5 - 1 GF 9 GA 8 I would say it will be our hardest game so far and likely to be our first defeat! If we don't show more resilience than lately

RECORD BOOKS: AFC Bournemouth became only the 10th club in the history of The Football League to win by 8+ goals away from home, and the first to do it in the second tier since Derby County in 1923!

Guess who the team was Derby played in 1923..???
