Assume this is sarcasm, but just in case ...

Victor Valdez when he is back to fitness and played a few matches is top 5 in the world.

He'll go to Man Utd unless someone better steps in.

Edit: Oh I see. Like us. Good point.

Should have been let go a long time ago. Too many on here who have complete amnesia when it comes to McGregors glaring mistakes but remain fixated on Eldin's Shef.Wednesday performance. Harper is a good experienced keeper but hasn't the agility to get down to hard shots in the corners like Jak. Time to move on and give the man his due. Todays performance was brilliant.

I don't want to be the negative one but once again it's come up and onxe again I'm going to have to point out that it wasn't just the one game against Wednesday. He did it again 3 days later away at Orient in the cup. He also made a clanger at Barnsley in preseason this summer. Yes it's only 3 incidents but he still hasn't played that many games for us and all 3 were far worse than anything Harper or McGregor have done, and they always seem to get plenty of criticism when they do make a relatively minor error.

McGregor made the worst mistake out of all Hull City players ever in 110 years.

When the barbaric Scottish prick effectively knocked us out of Europe being a stupid ****.

He makes a few massive clangers does McG. The difference between him and Eldin ****headovic is McG doesn't pretend he's dead once he's made one, he just gets on with it, which is one thing at least that I like about him.

McGregor away in Europe takes a lot of beating.

Actually yeah, dunno how I forgot about that <doh>

Still, Jakupovic has done something similar on three occasions that I can remember and he's only played a handful of games for us. Credit to him for what sounds like an excellent performance today, but arguing he was good all along because "It was only one game against Wednesday" simply isn't true.

I thought he was really good today. He seemed to grow in confidence. I never really felt he would let one in. The other players were very appreciative of him at the end of the match. I was pleased for him.

The difference is Jak has made about the same amount of mistakes in 10 games has McGreggor has in 40.

I haven't seen any of today's game and it sounds like he had a good game.

He's alright as third choice in Premier League, but no more.

    See above.

But still, in a season and a bit, McGregor has hardly make a mistake, whereas Jak has made several despite never having much of a run.

Kept a clean sheet today when I didn't think he would.

    Well done Jak .

You must be joking. i think McGregor is a very good keeper but he has made several mistakes that have cost us points this season alone that I can recall, in addition to the obvious ones like the Lokeren miskick. I can recall at least four mishandling ones this season in four successive games that led to goals. In his defence I'd attribute some of these to the lack of a full recovery from his serious injury last season which clearly hampered his ability to get down to shots in the corners, like the Cisse goal at Newcastle, of the type that Jak was excellent on today. Mcs positioning on free kicks has always been suspect also, notably Cazorlas opening goal in the Cup Final. As for the Jaks "several" that you mention he had one horrendous game against Wednesday, and the missed through ball in a meaningless friendly earlier this year. I don't recall the Leyton one but I'll take your word for it. The others ????

If Eldin's performance today wasn't the best we've seen from a City keeper this season I can't recall a better one. I'd be very surprised if he isn't a serious contender for Crooks and others "Team of the Week". There certainly wasn't a better one today and I saw all the games.

The Premier League is all that matters. You don't get days like today seeing Stevie G in the flesh at the San Siro.

Nice to see you backing our lads as usual, why do you actually support us if all you do is slag off your own players?

He really isn't. Fantastic distribution, probably the best there is, but in terms of dominating his box and making mistakes he can be very poor.

Consistency is the name of the game for goalies, Pierre, and whilst I like the loyalty and patience of Old Buttergloves, I'm afraid over the medium/long term he's not reliable, technically.

Surly folk realise that a GK is all about confidence. Jack made a pretty bad mistake, he paid a pretty big price for it; he was kept and nurtured for a reason. Yesterday he showed he had moved on, as did the manager;so should the support. To say, especially after that performance, that he should not be anywhere near the pitch, is simply wrong. Mac is a good GK, but he is erratic at times; his agility has been affected by that injury it is now obvious he has been carrying - he's now sorting that out. Harper is a good GK who has given us great games when called upon, but age is showing and this injury could determine his future. Jak is a good GK who made a couple of mistakes and was accused of handling them badly - the manager moved on, maybe we should.
I think we have been very fortunate with our keepers and don't see the need to slag any off simply to praise another. A while back I argued that we should consider looking for a GK in the January window and that Jak should be considered our No.2; I still do, who now agrees? I wonder, three games ago, how many would have jumped at the chance of signing Mannone; I wonder if they still would after the last two games? It's a confidence thing.

Edit: first word should be Surely, not Surly - sorry if that grated! <laugh>

Spot on...excellent post and I agree with everything you said. Jak should certainly be viewed as our No.2 at least and Bruce should not worry about giving McGregor plenty of time to get over his injury which certainly affected his agility this season.

The phrase, when you do right no one remembers and when you do wrong no one forgets, is never more applicable than for goalkeepers.
