Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers: "Performance wise we were excellent, particularly in the second half where we were outstanding. hmm...
Anyone watching Madrid-Barca? Commentator just said Marcelo was "as sharp as a porcupine's backside" I think he's been possessed by the ghost of Sid Waddell
Don't have a problem with Alex Bruce playing against the bigger sides as his ability to defend is very good, however against the lesser teams, when we want to dominate, he then becomes an issue as he can't pass for ****e.
Sort of sums it up for me. Thought in the first half we looked a very good team. Jak never really had to make a save and we were pinging the ball around with speed and accuracy to the extent that I thought we had got rid of our big failing giving the ball up cheaply. Regressed a bit in the second half, but, dug in for the draw. Which based on our previous failures in this area had to come--things always regress to the mean-the stock market, GDP growth and giving up 2-1 leads or similar; it was not going to happen today. And agree with being a million miles away from a relegation scrap if we continue to play like that. Re the Jak, made some good saves, but, they made an appeal for a penalty at one point and he just stood there when a more assertive position was called for luckily the ball fell right for us and he ended up with the ball (how I am not sure thought it was passed back by one of our players but could not have been since this would have been a foul as I found out a couple of weeks ago-rule change in 92).
