wow - Birmingham sacking their manager hasn't paid dividends today - 7:0 down at home Edit - make that 8-0!
Grabban should change his name to Lewis Grabban-offside. You hear it so often I'm sure might even be.
Frustrating to be sure, but other results went our way, showing just what a war of attrition this league is. Derby and Forest lost at home, Boro and Watford drew and only Wolves won out of the serious contenders. Disappointing for us, but not a disaster by any means. 9 shots, 5 on target would have won it on most days, considering they only managed a single shot on target.
It could have been worse. The number of attacks halted by offsides was the most frustrating bit to me.
Not Jerome heading from point blank range only for their keeper to claw it away in another World class save situation?.
I looked but can't find the stats for offside personally i didn't pinpoint that as a problem. Adams today was asked to keep it tight , not lose an early goal and to utilize our squad, he did all 3 and if we had a striker as good as Chris Martin or Bournemouth's Wilson <the only guy to score for them cough Rob> we would have won. Grabban missed a good chance Jerome about 2 or 3 and we continue to squander corners.
Name and shame then Tracker i watched the entire match on a massive monitor and saw Grabban flagged twice ,you are basically saying that he was at fault so please enlighten me . Please find the stats for how many times we were flagged offside today and post your findings mate. Otherwise it's just a baseless throw away comment, now i remember our previous number 9 Mr Holt getting flagged at least 5 times pretty much every game but that was never an issue. You can be objective and look for scapegoats but today we played well and stay in a great position in this division, roll on November as we have not won this month.
Win by 2 or more goals on Friday night and we go back to the top of the league. My point is that it is such a tight league and there will be no real pacesetter. It is best to stay in the pack and off the radar. We have the dosh to strengthen in January and play our best football in March and April to get auto promotion.
There were some off-sides, but not that many that I thought it to be a major problem. Exceptional saves by the keeper certainly were though. Teams are doing to us what we did against Chelsea.
Also the real slice of luck today was all of our rivals losing or drawing too notably poor little Ipswich town blowing a lead YET again so i doubt they will be on here tonight...
