With your Sky television, some daft journos with their fresh orange and croissant on a Sunday morning telling us what we all cant work out for ourselves, croissants for christ sake. In my day, when I was a boy and football was proper and you stood to support the lads. When boots had proper laces and came half way up your leg, when players had proper mens hair done in a nice perm. Well in those days w did not need fancy dan sky, we had poper footy on TV and a full English with a mug, not a cup but a mug, of tea. The days of Jim, Dickie, Saint and Greaves, enjoy some proper telly
I used to love Saint and Greaves on a Saturday morning, we also had to rely on teletext to get any footy gossip. No Internet back then.
Aye syd you could get a packet of tabs for a quid go out on a Saturday to the match then on the Lash and still have change from 10 quid.
Can any body remember that Gadgie from Tyne Tees who used to present SHOOT...Roger Tames I think he was called.....had a crackin mousetache !
****ing hell. I have this conversation regularly. I'm 31, and my life without internet would be impossible. Work, keeping in touch with mate, you rabble on here, skype etc. I'd actually have to put some clothes on and leave my terrace...
We also had proper wrestling on Saturday afternoons, with Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks being my highlight of the year when they fought each other.
Saturday wrestling was class none of this WWF **** (or what ever it's called these days) my favourite was Kendo Nagasaki. Wasn't Bomber out of Auf Weidersien Pet a wrestler back then.
Being stranded down here in London, I used to have to wait for the Football Echo to arrive. Sometimes it didn't get here til Tuesdays - ****ing nightmare that was!!
