Nick HFAFC - where did you get the laid back idea from? I'd have thought he was as driven as the next man?
Thanks info, couldnt care less though....its just my (toned down) opinion about the bullock he was writing. Is this a place where only helpful/productive comments happen? I guess not, or isnt this a regular forum?
most stuff is acceptable, I'd say. Where we differ from other boards is, we don't take kindly to personal abuse. Please just take care on HOW you criticise other opinions.
My opinion is that he is too laidback, you don't need to write that 'I don't have a clue' for expressing it, maybe saying why you disagree would be a better way of going about it?
Perhaps the comment got lost in translation I think he is too relaxed before races but of course I only see TV footage, maybe you know better and work in the Red Bull garage perhaps. It's all about opinions for me, you're entitled to yours so long as it's not a personal attack.
That sounds a lot different, to be relaxed means something else. It just shows his self-confidence. But you put "too laidback" in context with "but maybe if he was a bit more fired up he would be even better" and that didnt let me think you ment "relaxed". No problem anyways, my post had not the intention to be a personal attack at all. I wanted to sound harsh, yes, but thats it.
Didnt see it as attack, more as complete misjudgement, but i guess we found out now what you wanted to say
I'm pleased to see this disagreement has been resolved. Well done Nick for not over-reacting to the unnecessarily personalised response. tomcat: it's easy to choose the wrong word sometimes. How about a bit of tolerance when reading someone else's opinion?
Cosicave. First a pro driver, historian, political commentator, critique author, philosopher, master of UK and USA geography, and now mediator - possibly sage. Is there no end to this man's talents?
After half the season being done now, I've got a better clue regarding this likely WDC for Sebastian... I think this WDC will hold more "respect" then his first WDC. He's obviously come of age and has gone to the next level, easily joining the top 3 drivers on the grid, maybe even surpassing 1 of them. Yes his car is one of the best on the field but Sebastian has used so many aces in is deck to silence the doubters when they pray he'll do the same mistakes like last year, no problems so far. Usual quotes I hear: 1:He cant overtake, (Jenson at Australia, Massa at Malaysia, Lewis at China, Webber and Jenson at Spain.) 2:His starts are poor, (Has lead into the first corner 6/8 times, only China and Spain he hasn't.) 3:It's all the car, (Australia, Spain, Monaco, Canada, all great drives from Sebastian on tracks where other cars were quicker on race pace.) 4:Can't take the pressure, (Spain:No KERS from time to time, Lewis behind him using KERS and DRS. Monaco: Worn tyres, Alonso and Jenson behind him with fresher rubber. Canada: Apart from 1 mistake he controlled anybody that got close, Valencia: Held the gap through the entire race.) 5:Can't win when it doesn't go to plan, (Turkey: Lack of testing but still lands it on pole and wins, Spain: Alonso got infront and stopped Vettel getting away, throwing the stratergy out of the window. Monaco: Bad Pitstop but uses his head to win the race and still had rubber to keep going. Canada: No one had a plan here, he almost won but second was great since he lead the whole way before the last lap.) I might be missing a few other "facts" that vettel has cast aside for this half of the season, and I'm sure he will keep doing it through the other half of the season. He's the real deal and nobody can say otherwise because lets be honest he isn't just beating everyone, he's destroying them, RB7 or no RB7.
I'm a big fan of Vettel as it goes, was a bit surprised by Tomcats reaction, was almost like I said Vettel was a puppy strangler or worse! I stand my opinion that he seems very laidback, like I said in the first post maybe that's a good thing in some peoples eyes.
Definitely seems that way at the moment, hopefully Silverstone will be the beginning of something different but not sure on that one!
Hahaha! Thanks Bergkamp. - The greatest compliment is to find one's pooling of resources to be perceived as a team effort… Of course, sometimes teams fail too but it's great to feel that you're on the same wavelength. All told, we have a pretty good team developing here on not606.
I think so - although I had to apologise to Manny - just in case my teasing was a tad too much. I certainly didn't want to drive him away. I'll say one thing for him, he had the courage of his convictions and stood his ground. My sense of humour can get out of hand I think - today I called someone an old goat but only in fun. Got abuse back. Maybe I've pissed another contributor off. Trouble is the words can be misunderstood all too easily.
Can you run for US president please. After all your other talents, i feel you could be capable of getting them out of their hole.
