I have been in Ipswich and Woolpit this week visiting family and the big topic at my dad`s house is the mystery of someone or a group of people stealing cats from Ipswich and the surrounding areas .
I have a theory that they are either being stolen for meat or by a Satanic cult who sacrifice these poor animals and drink their blood.
For the remainder of my stay i will try my best to get to the bottom of this horrific crime spree and bring the perpetrator to justice .
If anyone has any information there is a confidential helpline and witnesses identities will be protected 0300 1234 999 .:police:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-29553919

"Within a week 108 people in the town reported missing cats. We think someone is taking them for baiting in dog fights or worse,"...

Anything you'd like to tell us mate? <whistle>

I keep my Voodoo activity strictly to chickens and that was a few years ago now .
Maybe they are being trained to play pianos to amuse people on youtube?

All domestic cats should be put down or kept on their owners property at all times.

Alternatively there owners should be going round each night clearing up any cat **** in their neighbours gardens and apologising for the inconvenience.

Cat owners should be given ASBOs.

Not correct. A university (Southampton?) research project into this a while back stuck cameras and GPSs on a load of 'em and it turned out not only do they kill a lot less wildlife on their prowling sessions than previously thought, but the majority of those kills are of predators of birds (or their eggs, obviously) like rats. It didn't actually pronounce them beneficial to birds, but it certainly wasn't the other way.

If some bird species are declining, it's no good trying to blame cats.

Hampy'll be here in a minute accusing you of right wing speciesist scapegoating and he'll be right!

Yeah university research projects can be manipulated to show whatever the researcher wants.Personal experience shows that the short term presence of a cat in my neighbours garden while her son is home from uni leads to zero birds appearing at my feeders for the duration.

I think we have 2 or 3 suspects on this thread , i wouldn't be at all surprised to see Carabuh sporting a snazzy new fur hat this winter at Carrow rd with kitten mittens.

Yeah! University research is worthless! Shut them down. All those pesky universities dragging us out of the dark ages with their manipulated advancements in all areas of human intellectual activity - bastards! We could still be burning witches and dying of tooth decay if only those money-grubbing t**ts with their made up reports and conniving peer reviewers would stop pulling the wool over the eyes of us heroic, common sense, say-it-as-you-see-it Sun readers.

And the presence of a predator wouldn't possibly temporarily frighten birds away, would it. Oh no - it must mean it had killed the lot of 'em.
