I just clicked a random Watford thread and one of the posters said that Cowie is their biggest loss this summer, regardless of price.
just been on the watford page and christ they are pissed!!! MM might need an armored people carrier when we play there this season. He's not very popular!!!
You've got a good player in Cowie Mackay though is raping our club which is why we are pi**ed with him - he knows the terms and conditions of all the players so is getting you the best deal - good for you but fairly mean of him to **** on the club that gave him his managerial start. We hope that having brought in a team of people who only know how to avoid relegation you will sack him before Christmas - as happened when Brendan Rodgers walked out on us for Reading
Just want the ones that without whom you'd have finished last. To be honest, I hope it stops there regarding Watford.
Cowie was a good player for us but just keep in mind that if Malky does well he'll probably take the next best offer at a bigger club and rape your club from the inside, and if he fails you'll still be playing championship football for a few more years
Never mind all the Watford vitriol, it is understandable. Think back 12 months to a Mr. J Ledley. To answer the original question, I think we have a good acquisition. Around 18 months ago he was rated one of the best midfielders in the Championship. I believe he is more a mover and passer rather than the Kavanesque player we really need but nevertheless another piece in Malky's jigsaw. Hopefully Taylor. Gunnarsson and Goodwillie to follow early next week.
Yeah, some of the stuff being banded around by the Watford fans is bang out of line, and lets be honest we knew the "welsh" bashing was due to come sooner or later. On the plus side though it seems Proph is making new friends over there
To be fair you got one "welsh" comment from someone very pissed off late at night in a hotel room far from anywhere with a few drinks. It is not a "welsh" thing but the fact that MM misled us - when he turned down Burnley in January he implied he would stay with us and signed a new contract - we just feel he let us down. I don't rate him too highly and am not really sorry he has left us - I certainly don't see him as being better than Dave Jones
I'd take what Rodgers has achieved any day... Yes, but Burnley were another team who got to the premiership against all the odds when they realistically shouldn't have, just like you, and also just like you are now in a steep decline. We, however, are a club on the up who were clearly better suited to match his managerial ambitions. There's nothing wrong with being a small club, after all, who would make the big clubs feel good about themselves if it wasn't for you?! Now **** off back to your own board and keep spewing the same old bullshit about us being Welsh, ****s.
Actually Luke I seem to remember you being pretty anti MM a very short while ago. Second I live in Wales and have nothing to say about Cardiff being Welsh other than they are. Thirdly Burnley are a much bigger club than you or Watford with a proper proud history whereas you have soent most of the last 50 years in the doldrums Fourth most of your fans are a sight more polite than you but congratulations for being able to spell a four letter word - you should feel very proud. Fifth - the transfer of MM and his team has caused many posts across the two boards which have been quite interesting - I suspect your fellow fans would rather have some of us to talk to than people with your linguistic lack of ability Now step aside and let some of your decent fans have their say
Oh ... and for your challenged little mind Luke I was referring to Rodgers stay at Reading - where he jumped to from Watford - would you take his record there - being in the bottom 3 approaching Christmas?
sorry to say this mate but thats a poor comparison to make. we rejected many large bids for ledley for about 3 years before he left, instead of selling him when it was clear that he would leave on a free transfer if he wasnt allowed to go to a PL team, they kept him and hoped he would sign a deal for far less than what he could command elsewhere. on this occasion i do not hate ledley for what he has done. he played over 200 games for us, and played with his heart on his sleeve. you could not say the same for someone like bothroyd, who although had talent, sometimes went missing and showed us the reason he had flopped until he came to us, a terrible attitude problem.
