Seeing as I'm stuck on my Economics HW, I'll do what everybody seems to be doing nowadays and use you lot as a last resort.

Could you give me some examples of products or materials that have recently sharply risen or fallen in price (apart from the real obvious ones like petrol).

    Cheers. <ok>

I sound like my dad here, but I can remember when you could get a mars bar and a can of coke AND change out of a pound!

There's chemicals and matierials used for things like solar energy that have seen a price rise in the past few years I think, due to the wider use of renewable energy, can't remember the names of them sorry.

Pretty much everything has risen in price sharply lately from a loaf of bread or decent newspaper to property.

Then there's the evil supermarkets downsizing the portion (and even still pushing the price up) in a bluff of
    bull**** repackaging.

About the only things I can think of that's dropped in price are DVD players and HD TV's...

Add a packet of crisps anarl. Crisps and mars bars were around 20-25p each and I mean Walkers crisps, you could get other packets cheaper in the 90s!
Also bus fare, I remember as a kid 15p would get you pretty much anywhere.

Most precious metals (gold, platinum, etc.), conductive metals (copper, ally, etc.) - due to demand in the far east, cocoa, wheat/potash and many other farming materials.
