I'd like to lodge a complaint with Powell and the Board. How is a Charlton supporter expected to put 100% into his job, or show true commitment to his family life, when every 12 hours we seem to sign another player? This kind of free-spending makes social lives impossible, every time you call someone to talk about the latest new signing you're talking about different people. This is truly unacceptable. Added to that, these signings appear to have genuine quality about them which means we're being injected with the most addicktive of Charlton poisons... Optimism. Frankly, to be receiving regular shots of Optimism is getting me highly addicted, and I'm worried at the effect this may have on the crowd, when I hear people saying they're looking forward to pre-season friendlies? OK, they're in Spain, but it's unhealthy I tell you! Rant over I need another hit..
I know what you mean, TVR - there's something missing from my life now I've got absolutely nothing to moan about - I've decided to go cold turkey on optimism by repeatedly watching footage of our 3-1 stuffing by Exeter in front of a full house, that should do it...
A last season compilation video... Home vs Exeter, Home vs Brighton, Home vs Swindon, Home vs Orient... is there a recurring theme there... the ultimate low? This wave of optimism really should help shake the baggage of the home disappointments that have been one of the key symptoms of our decline.
Lets sack the board!! How dare they provide significant investment for players of quality?!?! Don't they know that this is Charlton. We, the fans, are used to failure and disappointment! All this optimism is giving me heart palpitations!
