Not enough to be worth arguing about. He is one the signings who has gone about his job quietly and professionally and i hope we sign him because he has been a quality defender (Who actually prefers being a defender) who is able to play out from the back as well as defend.

Would be delighted if Bertrand signed a full contract. Having both him and Clyne on the pitch fills me with confidence, they both seem so very capable in their roles.

I don't expect Alderweireld to stay beyond this season.

Especially as he can be recalled by his home club after this season, so not a normal option to buy.

And because it's actually a ludicrously low fee for him...

The lad proved me wrong. I wrote him off to be quite honest, but been so impressed with Bertrand.

If we get maybe 7th I'll be disappointed if any leave. I dont get who would choose to simply go straight to top 4 rather than stay at a club that has gelled, progressed as a unit and will no doubt get stronger and better. Surely it's more fulfilling to be part of a growing team and prove everyone wrong rather to be dropped into immediate success.

Indeed. Make real history rather than jump on a bandwagon as an alsoran. Well, it's simple - they don't think like that. Hopefully, this team will prove the transfer-outs they were wrong to leave. Of course, had they stayed we'd probably be a lesser team, so I'm glad they're gone, in all honesty.

All about the money and the easy way of getting what they want for 90% of players.

Players always dream of playing for the big clubs...when they become a pundit on TV, they want ex-Manchester United, England (or whatever) written under their name, rather than ex-Southampton...just a fact. Be nice if that changed one day, but will take a while.
