Plus the buy on the day Northern contingent,so I'll go for 600 to 700 City fans at Barnsley

Is it not unreasonable to expect at least 1000 at any of our away games ........
We're Bristol City were top of the league......

I went to Oakwell when we were pushing for promotion in 2004/5 ? We won 1-0, took loads of fans and Tony Rougier got the goal. It was a great day out

football must be a powerful drug indeed when Barnsley and "good day out" are used in the same sentence.

I'll have some of what he's having

Our day in 2004 or whenever up there was brilliant despite the fact that the place itself is a bit of a hole. Stopped on the outskirts of town to get some lunch in a pub, then went to some sort of leisure centre close to the ground where the drinking continued unabated. The only crap bit was an Indian restaurant we stopped in at Droitwich on the way back which was truly awful !

I really do expect a better result than my only visit to Oakwell.
New Years Day, driving horizontal rain, Gary Shelton sent off and we lost 2-0 or 2-1.

So for everyone going tomorrow, make lots of noise and bring back all three points with you.

Barnsley is in South Yorkshire mate, and West and south are two very different places. Leeds is west, and a very lively town it is. West is hill country, with a lot of money and high culture whereas the south is spit and sawdust, and very 'northern'. If you want nice then keep going south until Lincoln.
PS There are a lot of scary women in Yorkshire, and thats just the blokes

Yep you are correct, easy to make the mistake of not knowing where you are when totally smashed. Still won't hear a bad word against Barnsley as a night out :)
