Looks like there could be four or five changes tomorrow, Jelavic, Dawson and Harper are obviously out already, but Robertson and Huddlestone are also doubts. please log in to view this image
I read somewhere that Huddlestone had a groin problem before the Arsenal game, and he was surprised he got through 90 minutes. Sounds like it is still bothering him, both him and Robby will be a loss that's for sure.
I joked when we loaned Figueroa out that Robertson would now get injured maybe I should keep my mouth shut. Massive loss both of them
Steve Bruce: “We’re going to have to make numerous changes to the squad due to injuries so it’s a big chance for the players coming in.” Brady's the obvious one for Robertson, but Huddlestone's replacement is less obvious, Ramirez or Meyler?
Change the shape, as posted above we can still field a very strong side, why bring in the Alex Bruce's and David Meylers (no offence to them) when there's Ramirez's and Brady's chomping at the bit to tear into one of the leagues poorest defences?
Could be, but I think at Liverpool away Bruce would probably rather stick with 3-5-2/3-5-1-1, possibly... -----------Jakupovic ----Chester Bruce Davies Elmo---------------------Brady --Livermore Ramirez Diame ----------Ben Arfa ---------Hernandez
You reckon Diame will be as affective that deep? I think it sounds good team to me but swap gaston for Diame
BBC Humberside Sport ‏@HumbersideSport #hcafc boss Steve Bruce has confirmed young goalkeeper Rory Watson will be on the bench at Liverpool tomorrow.
Ramirez is obviously a quality player, but I'm not sure about him playing centre midfield. Also it may place more defensive responsibles on Diame and limit his effectiveness going forward.
Still some decent options available - a test of the squad depth but this could be a really good game.
BBC Humberside Sport ‏@HumbersideSport #hcafc boss Steve Bruce says Alex Bruce, Paul McShane and Harry Maguire are all under consideration to replace the injured Michael Dawson. Looks like three at the back then.
It is a difficult one as points seemingly a possibility with Liverpools current problems, but I would be tempted to give Maguire a run out. We have nothing to lose by losing (that makes sense in my head). Who knows, he may step up. Not sure how much pace he has, but a big physical presence against Lambert who will likely start.
Maguire also supplied the ball for Karim Rossi's goal for the young 'uns the other day, which may not have done him any harm.
Both look set to miss the Liverpool game so the injury list is growing & confirmation that Watson will be on the bench
I'd like to see Maguire start, he ****ed up away at WBA but games like this will be key to his development, he needs a chance. I also wouldn't like to see Ramirez in the deeper central midfield role, far too lightweight. I've a feeling he may go 5-4-1 with Ramirez and Ben Affrey on the wings, which could work well if they push forwards to give Hernandez some proper support, he looked very isolated against Arsenal (A) and struggled on his own.
We are struggling to score and we're throwing goals away, can't see us scoring eight or keeping a clean sheet so you are obviously confident going into this game
