Not sure if its been posted about or raised previously so sorry for any duplication!

Did anyone have their retina's burnt out from the lighting on Saturday?! I can't believe how bright those things are and how the ones under the stand get right in your eyes and burn your soul out. Did anyone else have a problem or was it just myself?

I suppose this is the continuation of the TV supporter being put infront of the attending supporters and enhancing their viewing enjoyment whilst impacting the ticket holders. First kick off changes, then LED advertising, I wonder what the future holds......

Are you certain you weren't just getting dazzled by Tadic's skills?

Yes I sit in the Kingsland/Northam corner and found the lights to be very bright at the QPR game. I didn't notice they were so bad at the Sunderland game but was wondering if they will be even worse when it is dark. Friends who sit in the centre of the Kingsland also commented. Let's hope it's just a teething problem.

I always found the conventional floodlights at The Dell dazzled me. The Dell was extremely well lit with floodlights, but the dazzle isn't the brightness but the proximity to your field of vision. Basically, if any strong light source crosses your vision it'll dazzle you unless you look away. The St Marys stadium lights are bright, but I doubt whether they are very much brighter than they used to be. They are not perched high up but at the roof level, so this is the major problem for you, I expect. My advice is don't gaze up there for too long or sit in a seat high up in the stand so that your are predominantly looking downward [apologies if it's a season ticket]. On the plus side they'll certainly cost a lot less to run.

    Incidentally, are you blue eyed..?

I wasn't staring at them much on Saturday, so no issues to report...

I sit in the Kingsland Centre, block 32, row M so not too far up. I think as well as the flood lights on top of the stadium there are now 6 lots of lights just under the roof which are more at eye level which are the annoying ones. Its not like I am intentionally looking up, its literally an issue if you just look slightly above eye level from where I sit. Sure people will get used to them but it was an interesting sight to see people shield their eyes from them like it was a blazing hot sunny day.

    Im green/slashed blue eyed!

Sensitive to bright light..! I'm blue eyed, so I'm fairly easily dazzled. At least you probably have good night vision.

I bet that the Sunderland fans were looking directly at them to cover their retinas with purple slodges. Well, after the 5th went in, at any rate.:)

I noticed it when I looked at the scoreboard (which let's face it was quite a lot). There are really bright lights from my high view Itchin Block 9 Row HH just either side of it.

Yes it's had quite a bit of coverage but not a lot of sympathy. I think the key thing is that the lighting is new so people look at them and hey presto they are blinded by the light. I did the same as a kid. I was bought a new torch for Christmas and looked straight at it! Same result!

My eyes are a swirling pool of promise and emotion which women have never been able to resist. So even if you are as ugly as hell if you have the right eyes then you are in.

That's very true. A distant relative of mine is... well, let's be tactful here, he's not the best looking chap. Yet women can't resist him because he has great eyes.

I frighten the living daylights out of myself when I look in the mirror and yet I have always got on well with women which I believe is due to having warm trusting eyes (or so I am told). Having a sexy voice helps as well however the most important thing is not to come on too strong or to be too earnest. Women need to feel relaxed, comfortable and unthreatened.
