I say may because she may have thought I meant as just a friend, female intuition is a lie and one has to be as subtle as a sledgehammer. Hopefully that's not the case though
The best time to link up at University is early on when people are eager to make friends (i.e. desperate and I mean her as much as you). She will be afraid to mistake your intentions....women prefer men to make idiots of themselves first (fortunately, this is not uncommon). Good luck.
