I believe you have stated you are involved with concrete ?

if so, how much fibre do you add to concrete when you are making a mix to construct the roof of a tunnel or its upper walls?

And I bet this gets more than 1 view.....lol

Nothing because it will be constructed with steel reinforcement, to create the form. Unless you are spraying the concrete.

Different fibres act in a different way.

They are all crack preventative but to what level.

    On the sreious note..

Has to be put into place by hand, so relatively firm mix about <> 8cms thick and is covering a thin mesh, fibres are from 5cms to 10cms and synthetic

Come on now ROD...you need to determine whether its crack prevention during curing that he needs or whether its actual reinforcing....the latter could perhaps use the HE+/50 steel fibres from Mittal?...or at least an equivalent?

You stick to batching it, he's already said he's using mesh and using synthetic fibres. You wouldn't use steel fibres if you was placing it by hand, health and safety Jeffery <laugh>

We could get really technical and talk about the benefits of using them, but he's after free advice so nothing in it for me.
