Have just been reading the club website. It has been 18 years since Matthew Harding (R.I.P.) died. Where are the years going ? Didn't realise it was that long ago. Remember reading about the way he started as a tea-boy in his company and ended up running it. He was a Real Blue through and through. Put his money behind his big passion in life. The game after his death was to be home to Spurs and there was a major doubt whether it would go ahead or not. I had organised weeks before to come over for that match but after the accident i didn't expect it to go ahead. As it happened the club decided to play the game as a tribute to Matthew. I can, as i'm sure any of you who were at it, remember everything about the day. Bob Dylan music (His other passion in life), was played low and respectfully through the tannoys. A makeshift shrine of scarves and memorobilia adorned the area from the main gate to the back of the old shed. A pint of guinness was pulled for him and left untouched at his usual pre match spot in The Imperial. The match was fittingly won by His Beloved Blues 3-1. An impeccably kept minutes silence was held by the crowd (full credit to every Spurs fan there that day). What a pity Matthew didn't get to see us win the F.A. Cup that season. Hope wherever He's gone He can still enjoy a pint of guinness, listen to his Bob Dylan music, and savour watching His Blues ! Gone but never forgotten.

i was at that game i can remember how impressed i was at the tributes laid outside from other clubs, especially the amount from liverpool. i can always remember him and his son sitting directly above us in the matthew harding upper after his fall out with bates. the fans all loved him and i think that always got up bates nose. i can also remember spurs bleating afterwards that the game should not of been played as it was one that they could never win.
