    Hi All:emoticon-0103-cool:,

    Didnt know if I will be able to get on till the afternoon, so my selections for tomorrow are;

14.00 Sandown- Kingsgate Native- Dropping back in class after struggling a little bit in higher company and he has got the visors on and should be a start of the a very good day for SMS and Ryan Moore. His draw is not favourable but should have enough class if Ascot hasnt taken it out of him. Pastoral Player is another contender, ran a cracker in the wokingham stakes and shows all the class to cope with Group company very well

14.35- Soorah- Has a decent draw in stall 1 and Ryan Moore on him. She ran well in the hunt cup even though she was running on the wrong side. And with the experience of Ryan on her, it should be her day!

15.10- Workforce- Is a classy horse, and won over C&D in May even though he suited more a mile and half- SYT is not proven on english soil imo! And workforce is almost certainly better than rewilding. And should get SMS season properly started!

15.40- A diffucult race with plenty of doubts over these horses form and stamina- but will have to go for Ship Biscuit the only horse i can see with any real class and will win easily if he repeats his run in listed company when second to Harris Tweed- she will improve after needing a run out in the Aston Stakes

16.15- Naharin- Has won both starts and looks a smart filly in the making and would have to take a big performance to beat her. Maybe from Dubai Queen who is improving over every trip and ran well in the royal meeting but to win this would mean another step forward

16.50- Johnny Castle- Although has a 8lb rise to make things alittle more harder, but seems to have the class to overcome and is on the upgrade. Looked good at newmarket and should complete a hatrick of wins

17.20.- Standout- A consistent perfomer although not winning but today should be his payday and will finish off a great day for the Eclipse Winner Ryan Moore! lol:emoticon-0116-evilg

Thanks Woolcombe for starting the daily thread.

    2.35 Dunn'o 11/1 1pt EW

I have two selections which I think are overpriced.

    3.25 Hallcarnassus (25/1 with ladbrokes) 1pt EW
    3.25 Porgy (25/1 general) 1pt EW
I also like Mount Athos but I feel the price is a little skinny in a large field.

For the Eclipse two I like:
    3.10 Workforce 13/8 2pts win
    3.10 Snowfairy 10/1 1pt win

I don't think SYT will even place.

Multiple G1 winner Snow Fairy comes here fresh so does have a chance. I believe the exertions will have taken its toll out of SYT and will not be at its best. This race has come a little too early.

As mentioned the distance is not ideal for WF but his class may be good enough. I just got a sneaky feeling Snow Fairy will win this…

After an awful day for me yesterday i'm going to stick with DORCAS LANE - Haydock 2.50. Backed her all five of her starts so far (yes including her debut at 50/1, small stakes admittedly). She hasn't let me down so far, as she hasn't finished outside the first three. She is a progressive filly from an unfashionable yard so I will take the 8/1 on offer. She will love the ground unlike Ascot where they were close to not running her but she still ran well from an unpromising position.

Also, got a soft spot for WORKFORCE, so will be cheering him on although I will not be getting involved.

    Lutine Bell 10/1

I really like the look of Mike Murphy’s runner today, and he is one I have been looking forward to seeing again a lot since his last run. He runs for one of my favourite trainers as his horses always seem to progress. After a successful beginning to his career with Sir Mark Prescott, which included 2 victories and 3 placed efforts ranging from 5f to a mile, he moved to his current yard in November last year where he romped to a winning 6L debut over 7f on the AW. Although winless since then, Lutine Bell has performed with a fair deal of consistency since, performing very admirably in 4 of his 6 subsequent starts. After being raised to a mark of 92 after the 6L victory, Lutine Bell’s mark has remained static at either 92 or 91, the latter being todays mark, which I think is extremely lenient considering the excellent efforts he has strung together.

After producing a below par 2nd effort for the Murphy yard, Lutine Bell produced a decent 1.12L 3rd behind Angels Pursuit and Seek the Fair Land, again on the AW. On his next start, Lutine Bell returned to the turf and ran out an excellent 1.56L 4th over 6f behind the excellent Horseradish, who subsequently ran a very credibly 1L behind Hoof It off a 4lb mark before being sold to Hong Kong. He was staying on strongly towards the finish, showing that a step up to 7f would be ideal. Perhaps more interesting than Horseradish, was Waffle, who finished only 0.75L behind todays selection. Subsequently, Waffle ran an excellent 2nd to Deacon Blues at Royal Ascot, only narrowly failing by a neck as the line came too soon. In correlation with the form of this race, and off a 1lb lower mark today, Lutine Bell surely has an excellent chance. However, Lutine Bell has run another 2 excellent efforts.

On 21 May, after a disappointing run at Ascot, Lutine Bell ran finished a good race to finish 1L 4th behind Crown Choice. This was another good run, emphasising the normally excellent standard that Lutine Bell runs to. On her final start, Lutine Bell was quite luckless from start to finish when finishing 3.31L behind Dungannon, a horse he finished 0.75L in front of on May 21 with only a 1lb swing in the weights. According to the trainer, “the starter hesitated for a split second before opening the stalls which resulted in Martyn taking the hood off the horse a fraction early. The horse hit the gate and bounced back onto his hocks just as the gate opened” and after meeting traffic, he could not get into contention. Murphy futher cited “We were both thrilled with his run but disappointed as with a clear run he would have won.” This reaffirms my believe that Lutine Bell is well capable off winning of her mark of 91, 1lb less than her run LTO

In conclusion, I think Lutine Bell is a cracking bet at 10s. In my opinion which, which is mirrored by the trainer, she is more than capable of winning off this mark. This consistent running gelding, under the guidance of Hugh Bowman tomorrow for the first time, should give another excellent showing. Although with all hold up performers he will need luck in running with 16 other runners, he has navigated through a field larger than this before. With his form franked, off a very manageable mark and for a trainer who always seems to get his horses to improve, I think Lutine Bell should definitely be there at the finish if everything goes to plan.

    2.35 Sandown

    Bennandonner 40/1

Although his trainer Mike Murphy (again!) said Bennandonner would struggle off his mark of 90 after his last race, I still think he is vastly overpriced. He is only 3lb higher than his winning 2 starts ago and his last run can be discounted as he was badly drawn and couldn't race in way he would like. The form of his win has worked out nicely enough, with the 6th winning off the same mark and the 7th going down by 0.69L and a neck off the same mark in his only 2 starts since. He is drawn badly again but the eye-catching booking of Seamie Heffernan, the progression Murphy's horses make and a massive 40/1 price tag I have got to have a small e/w play

    3.25 Haydock

    Sirvino 8/1

I'm tired now so I won't go into much detail. This gelding - who ALWAYS seems to get backed heavily - finally got his head in front LTO after nearly 2 years without a win. The extremely in form David Barron, who has 7 wins and 2 places from his last 16 runners, Sirvino won by 7L to Magicalmysterytour virtually still on the bridle over todays 12f, a trip he is still very much unexposed over. Although raised 11lb, the manner of victory by this 6 year old under todays rider Luke McNiff means he certainly is capable of winning here. Although this is a tough assignment and he has struggled off a similar mark in the past, I think Sirvino has reallly relished the step up in trip. After winning 5 on the bounce 2 years ago, Sirvino can definitely produce a good effort tomorrow. However, given the doubts about the hike in the weights and a competitive field, I will only be placing a medium sized wager.

If God was in his heaven and all was right with the world Stoute should be having a Group double with Workforce and Eleanora Duse. I will still be investing on both.

But my bet of the day is Clare Island Boy 1.50 Beverley.

Almost certainly, but I'm in the camp that thinks Stoute really ought to be up to winning the Eclipse.

Hello, all. Today’s racing is, of course, centred around the Eclipse but are there a plethora of punting opportunities available??? The answer in my opinion is ‘no’ but the pair that I will recommend are:

Vita Nova (2.50 Haydock Park) - Sir Henry’s most progressive filly looks standout here. Although she lost her unbeaten record last time Vita Nova only went down narrowly to Ferdoos, one who I incidentally think very highly of. Expect her to resume winning ways in this heat.

Flying Cross (3.40 Sandown Park) - one of the best bred horses in training being by Sadlers Wells out of the Oaks winner, Ramruna, he has his first run for Mr Gosden this afternoon. Flying Cross was a most progressive young stayer last term with a 3rd place finish in the Irish St Leger being his best effort. That run makes him the clear form pick here.

Good luck if you wager today.

    Sandown

    2;00-Astrophysical Jet

Big Rangy Filly who excelled when dropped back to 5f last year winning Group 3's at The Curragh and Newbury in a game fashion.Hasn't produced anything of note in 2 starts this year but worth another try.

    2:35-Leviathan

Hold up horse who has done well for new yard,Winning at Salisbury the last day when tipped up by FAMOUSWISE at 3/1 in the morning and going off 5/2 fav.Raised 3lb for that but likely to go very close here.

    3:40-Flying Cross

3rd To Sans Frontieres in the Irish St Leger on only his 4th career start,Was quite surprised he left Coolmore as they always considered this fella in the same way they considered Await The Dawn ie was gonna make a cracking 4 yr old. Will take some stopping here.

    4:15-Dubai Queen

Typical Cumani horse in that she keeps progressing with every run,Improving again the ;ast day when just beaten into 2nd in a good handicap at Royal Ascot.Needs to improve again to go close here but is quite possible she will.

2:00 Sandown - Triple Aspect - Took similar route to here last two years and this has been his targer on a 1lb lower mark than when winning this last yr

2:50 Haydock - Vita Nova - Would have made it 4/4 without Varian's highly rated Ferdoos beating the cecil filly by a neck last time out.. NAP... Huge Chance today

4:15 Sandown - Nahrain - Another Varian horse really rated at home won so easily lto taken the 5/6

4:25 Leicester - Cloud Rock - Unexposed PCH colt who has run well in competitive handicaps run at Epsom & Newmarket dropped down in class and think he can get a win today

3:10 Sandown - Cometh the our.. cometh the beast... I do fancy Sri Putra to run well but the day has arrived and my loyalties has moved me back into the derby and arc winners camp in the form of Workforce. I hope we'll see the Force at Work and @2/1 i'm prepared to have a go.

    Morning folks.

I like to concentrate on only one or two races each weekend, so just to be original I've plumped to focus on the Eclipse!

I'll take a small chance and say forget the other 3 in it and focus on the 'Big Two'. My thoughts on SYT I expressed after the POW. Irrespective of excuses it was a somewhat disappointing run from a horse whom we were led to believe would win with his head in his chest and be ready to go round again if needed but it didn't pan out like that. The excuses from O'Brien I took with a pinch of salt, possibly he underestimated the opposition however. An expensive mistake for many!!Contrary to some views on here I believe the better horse on the day won, Rewilding. Prizes for 10 furlong races aren't given out at the furlong out pole so the best horse on the day won. However is that race as good as SYT is? Nope, I don't believe it is. He has his favoured quick surface and will be very, very hard to stop against Workforce who has the trip slightly against him and the ground slightly against his preference at this trip especially.

But look at today's prices- 2/1 WF and Evens SYT... Really?? Is SYT twice as likely to win as WF? I think the odds are wrong and I'd personally have them something like SYT favourite at 5/4 and WF at 7/4. I would lean towards SYT today but I can't back him at that price. So it really should be a 'no bet' race for me but I can't help have a wager on WF at 2-1 and just hope Ryan Moore can nab the Aussie wonderhorse close home. There may not be much between them at the line.

3.10 Sandown Workforce (NAP) 2/1 Ladbrokes
