LFC are muck as kicking a ball into a penalty box from a corner.

Last night gerrard, lallana, coutinho at least took corners.

Most failed to get past first man near post.

this is a consistent issue in my mind. Its ridiculous. most sides playing us can kick a bloody ball in. and score.

Last night we needed to put the few frees we got in the opposition half were taken short. we didn't force real to defend of set piece much. We allowed casillas to even catch a corner!!!

what was needed was a barrage of balls in to their six yard area and real pressure applied to that area.

really... for an english side and one that socred several LAST year.. its pathetic.

Lallana might be busy but he can't kick it far enough from a corner to play u12s.

  2. I've mentioned this before. I've actually posted a theory about it contributing to a poor defensive record at set-pieces too; if we've no one to take a consistent decent free-kick or corner, how do we practice defending them?

good question.... pretty easy defend when the ball only hits first man.

    Very good point!

When was the last time we actually had a decent corner taker at the club? Free colonoscopy using a knobbly tree branch to anyone who says Charlie Adam.

    Last season - Suarez.

The problem was he rarely took them <doh>

  7. As far as a genuine answer goes, this! Suarez's corners were very good but Gerrard still took them. Before that it was Alonso but again, gerrad took a lot of them still. I think given more responsibility, Coutinho could be good too but he needs to be given a chance. Plus, Coutinho's not exactly going to be a threat in the box is he? Gerrard is!

Again it's people thinking, BR included, that Gerrard is still as good at all the things he used to be. He isn't.

i do agree gerrard aint a bad header of the ball... if he'd try.

coutinho took one decent one last night. it was here you take one, no i'll take it.. oh lallana's on now he'll take them like a u12 player.

honestly sort it out! a good flat driven ball thats attackable is what is desired. surely to god someone can figure that out.
