I don't have a poblem in you calling another poster an Idiot, under whatever curcumstances, but clearly you side kick does, and he sees the need to focuse on it like a self proclaimed mod, just pointing out to him that I'm not alone in that regard. With reference to my views on laudrup, they are pretty much on par with your views of Monk, so snap! Now it's clear that poster do not want to wade through all this tit for tat, which so ruins the threads, so you can continue on without me, i won't be responding to your snipping at Monk. Laudrup is history thank goodness, and you need to move on, you are fixated by his image, which was his only concern when here at Swansea, I see through his very poor Managerial time with us, and I'm not taken in by his so called 'class act'. Now that's my lot on the subject, so in an effort draw a line, have a nice day, otherwise it will end up like your very notorious 'Blue Prophet' campaign.
When Monk said he wanted his players to be more 'street wise' what did he mean? I've heard it said a few times last season that had (Routledge in particular who always rides fouls when he's attacking) a Swansea player gone down instead of battling on we'd have been given free kicks. I'm not having a go here I'm just interested what others think he meant as it is usually a euphemism for time wasting when ahead, playing the ref and not doing everything possible to stay on your feet.
I touched on that in the OP Bob, and specifically mentioned Routledge. I actually applaud Monk's stance on this but is it hurting us? Should we be playing the same game as everyone else? I say no - that's the only way things will change. And Phill....FYI I am nobody's 'sidekick' but I call it like it is. Whoever uses the term 'idiot' is breaking the rules, whether it's you, Libertarian or anyone else - these aren't my rules, they are the forum's rules. If you think they should be changed put up a thread or contact the mods. As you rightly point out I'm no mod and it's up to them if they want to take action, not me. But it seems to me that when the name-calling starts it just escalates and most people have had enough. We come on here to discuss the Swans but you and your 'sidekick' Daiswan (see anyone can do it) seem to come here wanting to cause a ruckus all the time by deliberately throwing in a Laudrup insult here and there calculated to get a response, and let's be honest here you've been banned for it too. So let's leave it drop and all grow up a little, eh?
And what prey,"are my views on Monk"? You clearly lack the nous to understand that when I defend Laudrup, his record, and his very existence, which you and some others have unsuccessfully tried to air brush out,I am not and never have knocked Monk,or been against his employment as Manager. Because I defend Laudrup, and offer up a completely different opinion to you,and often have to counter your untruths, does NOT mean that I am anti Monk. I have lost count of the number of times that I have stated that, but clearly you are unable to see,or accept my stance. You just want to cause trouble. I was wondering when you would bring up Blue Prophet. You are such a devious, spineless hypocrite. You revelled in his demise as much as any other poster, often joining in with the "fun". I tell you one thing for nothing,he and I had some real ding dongs, but he was a far better person/poster than you can ever dream of becoming. I'm done with you, you lying spineless bstd. You can ban me whenever you like Valley.
I see Pulis has come out in favour of the Monk camp? His interview is very good, and he is clearly backing Monk, the storm is gathering momentum in Monks favour, hope some good will come of it, and the 'Diving' is given the focus it deserves, so that it can me stopped.
Good on garry i say....... As a fairly recent player himself then he is well qualified to make a stand about obvious cheating in the game and the standard of refereeing that is not just confined to us but right across the board. ..We know Monk in time will be fined and all that does is brush everything under the carpet and sends out the wrong message to players that are blatant cheats to carry on also a wrong message that refs are doing a good job. ..I hope monk will continue to stand up and speak out no matter what fine he gets and i hope other managers join him as this has gone on for far too long and its making the league tables a mockery. As for the refs then yes i accept they cant see everything but he has 3 other officials to assist him and surely one out of 4 can see a cheating situation taking place or should be able too if they are doing their job properly...Keep speaking out garry and one day you might get heard...
I got no probs with a manager expressing his irateness toward officals but not on rhe sidelines like a rabid dog , it was a bit embarressing really. All I ask is to show a bit of class like past managers
Don't agree Musty. Refs seem t see us as a soft touch and Monk has had enough. I think he's right to raise this issue so publicly. I notice that the FA haven't fined him yet but have done so in relation to Warnock. Maybe they are coming around. Who knows?
It needed to be said , maybe not in the heat of the moment but it's had an effect as it's still in the news 4 days after then game so hopefully it won't be forgotten for all the right reasons.,We'll see what reaction from the Officials on Saturday who is Referee Mike Jones who has been known to drop the odd clanger or two so there's potential for a cock up before we start. If the players (take note Dai) started to put their chances away then we probably wouldn't be having this discussion .
Not what I want the club to remembered for , a spur of the moment , froth mouthed manager throwing his toys out . There is a time and place to bring such matters up... it was embarressing to watch him on the sideline like a .. child in the schoolyard , just my opinion
Latest picture from the Stoke Board of Moses "tumbling" http://www.not606.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=33953 Looks like Rangel is trying to grab his shirt to stop Moses from falling ..........
Monk was on the sideline after Moses's dive ,totally out of control screaming .Not sure if there will be reprecussions from Garry's actions but will understand if there are
what would you do then roof ??? I know if i seen an injustice i would be ranting and raving, I certainly would not stand by and watch my team be taking for a ride.
