It's difficult to say how they will react to last night, on the face of it teams after playing in Europe do seem below par in the next weekend games. I think if we can get an early goal, then we might go on to get a favourable result.

Now I dont agree with shirt swapping at half time - its a **** new fad - and especially when your side is losing. However I mustve seen 50 of the world's most famous players do precisely this over the past couple of years, so why is Mario getting all the **** about it?
Balotelli in my opinion is being made a MASSIVE scapegoat at Liverpool, Rodgers sold their best, and prob the premier league's best player, and once more spunked the cash up the wall on below par signings, when you look at it he has wasted loads of money there, Markovic, Lovren, Allen, Borini, Assaidi, Aspas, Luis Alberto, Sakho, Can, Illori, Morneo as well as Ballo - £130m worth of signings there...their talisman and hero Gerrard is so far past it now that set pieces are all that remain in his armoury. They will struggle to repeat the top 4 thiss year, even with Arsenal and Man U starting like pillocks, could be a good chance to redress the pains of our 2-2 draw there a few years ago when their 12th man gave them some strong strong assistance.

Lovren is not the defender they thought he was
Lallana is a decent player, injury has affected his season so far
Can was brought in more as one for the future. He looks decent but only appeared fleetingly this season
Markovic - odd transfer given Sterling, Lallana, Coutinho already in the squad
Balotelli - was already going to be questionable but the player is only two goals away from probably being a Liverpool hero. Penalties enhanced his career to date
Moreno - decent left back
Lambert - just not seen him feature
Looking back over previous seasons and it seems to me that Rogers has bought badly before
Alberto, Aspas, Mignolet, Toure, ilori, Sakho, Borini, Allen, Assaidi, Sturridge, Coutinho
Each of the above with a couple of exceptions is a £10m+ signing.
Safe to say Rogers mantra was enhanced by having an exceptional Suarez, unearthing Sterling and Gerrard amongst his ranks

100% agree. I remember him bemoaning squad depth last season and lack of funds when he had Allen not making the team and he loaned out Borrini. You spunked the money, Sunbeam - nobody else.

I think Gerrard is the issue not Balotelli, I remember how they played John Barnes when he was way past his best years ago and they are going down the same route with Gerrard
They do seem emotional about him. This was one thing Ferguson always had - total ruthlessness. He shifted on Keane, Ince, Beckham, Kanchelskis, Stam etc all when they seemed at the peak of their games and were supposedly irreplaceable. But all were with more success. The simple fact is Liverpool would be a better team without Gerrard.
Unfortunately for Rogers he doesn't seem to have a contingency plan to do without him so that's a major failing on his part, they will have to go through to at least January with Gerrard playing a key role. You are right about Ferguson too, the key to his success was shifting out the bigheads and deadwood right back to the early days in 86-87
In my opinion Balotelli is Liverpool's scapegoat and is being unfairly treated and Carragher is fuelling that fire on every week because of his own personal dislike for him.

To be fair, Lovren fooled us too. We were convinced that losing him and Shaw would bumfuck our defence. The drama queening about it was highly amusing.
