Glad it didnt get worse second half. Can was positive when he came on. Hope he now becomes a regular in our Midfield with Henderson and one other, Lallana I hope until Gerrard is well rested.
And some people rave about Chelsea and City. Ah well, didn't we get hosed 1-3 or 1-4 against Valencia in our first year in the CL? Long, long way fro the likes of Real, Barca and Bayern, but we need to qualify each year to improve. And get a director of football to buy our players! AND, don't Real play good football under Ancellotti? They never played like this under Mr Anti-football Mourenhio..
My point is that there are quality players for less than we pay. Nothing to do with Southamptons overall performance. In my eyes Pelle looks better than Balotelli for less money and Tadic looks better than Markovic. Saints performance is irrelevant.
no complaints the best side won with ease. 45 minutes was enough to do the business at the end of the day and all they had to do then was defend which they done to great effect...Liverpool can learn from this....

I'M ASHAMED. Not by the result as Madrid proved themselves to be a very good side. I am ashamed of the lack of character and willingness to fight for the cause. Apart from Coutinho, Can and to some degree Sterling the rest deserve a rating of NIL Point. What was Balotelli doing on the pitch. It was clear after 15 minutes that we were going to get nothing out of him. Was was Henderson playing? For the majority of this season he's been legilly running around the pitch and slowing things down when he should be injecting more pace! - he must be one of the worse passers in the Premiership. Gerrard did nothing all night and Johnson was an accident just waiting to happen. Please, please bring back Sakho into the defence.
Oh I know...but they weren't two names mentioned once on here in the summer and I'm fairly sure at the mo that if they'd pulled on our red shirt they'd be as lost as the rest of them.. But again....Look at our flops over the years....they're all for "less" you don't notice the same priced flops at Southampton only when they flop for us if you get what I mean....it makes smaller teams look like scouting geniuses because you didn't notice and didn't care about those same teams failures......
