I think some do, but at the moment, our top club are City & Chelsea who can offer nothing but money. Barca, Madrid, Bayern can all offer money but they offer history or a "name" shall we say as well. If you were getting the choice of Madrid or Chelsea and they're offering the same money, 90% of players would chose Madrid. When you were at the very best, you could offer as much money and history as Madrid so was a far more enticing offer.
Depends what you mean. I certainly think some clubs have more glamour than others, but otherwise, I think money's going to be the key factor in most cases. I don't think any player would turn the Prem as a league for not being good enough. Even if ti's not the best, it's one of the elite.
Mweh, I'm still to be shown the "better" players that were willing to come that we ignored and the other realities linked to us werent/aren't much better. Some people have a distinctly over inflated idea of our attractiveness in the market.....
Must admit, good to see Gerrard get some more European experience under his belt though. Definitely needed the 90 minutes more than anyone else in the squad
He didn't know, he might have guessed but regardless he shouldn't have done it. One more nail in the coffin he'll be gone in the Summer. I'll be there to make sure he leaves..
Complete gulf in class. More gutted though by the Basel defeat - no gulf in class there. We got drawn in an okay group - Real notwithstanding. We have to win away at Rugrats and home to basel now. Not that confident on it. Would Luis have made a difference? Tbh, they've just tried a 101 different ways of walking the ball into the net in the second. IF we qualify next season, God we need some quality players, defenders especially.
