Have you been watching? They scored 1 brilliant goal, the other 2 are set pieces. They've had a combined 4 decent chances and scored from 3 of them. They aren't walking through us even though we are shocking defensively. We could quite easily be 1-0 down and still in this (or 1-1 if Coutinho's effort had gone in). This myth about Madrid dominating is only because they've dominated possession, they've not created anything from open play.
Does Balotelli going off at half time mean that, unless something drastically changes somewhere, his career with us is effectively already over? We now have no recognised strikers on the pitch... Or is this just damage limitation tactics?
Playing a lot better 2nd half. Sterling in the false 9 position offering more movemebt with Lallana up there as well. Lino ****ed that up, no where near offside.
When we hit sides on the counter, he is useful. The problem is, even though Madrid will continue to attack (and well). They wont throw 11 players all forward. Gerrard will be a passenger in this role. I hope he proves me wrong though

Experimenting to see whether the team is better without him is hardly a compliment to the player. And do you really think he's being rested? P.S. Surely we have Lambert and Borini as other strikers (for the weekend)?
