The police have shot one gunman in Ottawa and are chasing two after shootings in Parliament building. A soldier guarding a war memorial has been shot and seriously wounded. Follows a previous incident with a muslim convert. No country is free of these madmen...you'd think they'd be grateful to live in a decent country rather than in the Middle East.

Soldier has died.

I've been to Nandos twice. I really don't see what all the fuss is about!

The problem with having teenage grandchildren is that when you go out with them they want to go to really crap places to eat like TGI Fridays etc.

I liked it so little that we only managed one visit. Even the kids weren't impressed. Then again, the current Mrs Onionman is possibly the best cook I have ever met, so any restaurant has to be good to get the thumbs up.

ok, so I pressed "upgrade" on my I-phone this morning .... ooops. That was 7:30 ... still not playing.

Beefy - wherefore art thou?

Should I try and just shut the phone down? Should I go to an Apple store? Should I just cry?

Should I just sit here and wait for TSS to come on here with his "I told you so....."

 

I never upgrade anything...having my computer crash once too often. I got fed up with going back in time to reverse what had just happened. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

certainly if it doesn't need an online service to run or doesn't run files from the internet or other people there's no reason to fix what isn't broken

that's the attitude I take to my smartphone apps. "updates" even remove functionality or add banner advertising sometimes.

edit: oh and when I've got this damn OSX working close enough to the way I want it, apple releases an update that renders all my third party apps broken and the power button instantly sleeps the computer cancelling all my downloads (thank christ they eventually fixed that)
