I am sure he didn't. He had to go along with it to "fit in".
If you think that the nickname is funny you are wrong. it makes you look a thick ignorant cnut.
Don't agree with me, oh well never mind it's just banter!

Different era though glory. Some stuff was deemed acceptable that makes us cringe now. The seventies comedy series love thy neighbour is a perfect example. Hugely popular in its day but doubt it could be screened on any channel now

I thought you played really well last night. A young team up against a pretty expensively assembled one. Yes, so a few passes went astray and you didn't really get the chance to play attractive football, but then I don't think you can expect teams to let you do that.

Executed your game plan perfectly with a very solid and hardworking defence and, but for a poor bit of defending from one corner where two of your players collided into each other, could easily have snatched a win. You basically did what Charlton did to us - kept good shape in defence to nullify our threat and take the odd chance you get.

I've the box set Eire, if anyone has watched it, the main protagonists were racist in equal measure to each other and normally it ended up (with the poor down trodden black man :emoticon-0113-sleep) coming out on top.

I'm sick to the back teeth of the hypocrisy where it seems exceptable to make derogatory remarks about other peoples appreances or faith or creed, but as soon as it's directed towards a black or asian there is uproar.

I'd like to add that these are my opinions and I know a lot of people won't agree with me, but TBH I couldn't give a **** what people think. Unlike in many black and asian countries I believe in democracy and free speech.

I a wait some clever answers from the mary whitehouse brigade......rant over....<ok>

Alf Garnett was brilliant as well, the irony was that he was jewish in real life(so probably had remarks thrown at him). I thought the scripts were brilliantly written and everyone from the Irish, blacks, asians, scots and homos/sorry gays and labour got slagged. My point Eire is, why do the blacks seem to get to use the R card and other groups don't(well not as often).

Bollox I swore I wouldn't get involve again with this subject, I've failed on that count.<doh>

Not really. I would have expected people to laugh at my ridiculous statements. Warren Mitchell and the Jack Smethhursts charecteristic in love thy neighbour were the butt of the jokes not role models for idiots.
I can't believe there are people so blinkered by bigotry that they define anyone chiefly by the colour of their skin. Then there are the double standards people who despise others for their colour, creed or religion but expect to be accepted by others who view them as foreigners.

How many here are unhappy about Leeds United being represented by black, foreign or God forbid gay footballers?
