"A referee in northern Peru halted a cup tie eight minutes early after five players went down injured at the same time in an apparent bid to have a match they were losing abandoned. Five players from Defensor Bolivar feigned injury in Sundayâs first leg of their Copa Peru semi-final against Defensor La Bocana, according to Depor newspaper. Bolivar were losing 4-1 and lost another goal as their players writhed on the ground. Having already had two men sent off, the referee had no option but to halt the game early. At least seven players are required on each side. The second leg on Thursday is now in doubt as authorities decide whether to punish Bolivar. The winners of the regional qualifier will go into the national competition." http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/oct/20/referee-abandons-match-feign-injury-Peru It always amazes me how grown men roll around on the floor pretending to be hurt. Must feel a right twat doing it...
Without meaning to be sexist I wonder if the same amount of rolling about pretending to be injured happens in womens football.
I'm confused - I thought Colin was in gainful employment in sarf London. Has he got two jobs or something?
I've not watched enough to know for sure but I'm almost certain that it wouldn't. I think women tend to have dignity.
Without trying to be sexist (I'm lying, but its mainly for comedy effect), I think its because there are more "men" in Ladies Football, and more fannies in mens football.
Women tend to be ill, or in some sort of pain 24/7, but only until they are actually ill. Then they seem to find happiness, and just work harder. I don't know what this this means, it's just an observation.
One of the lasses that worked for me when I was stationed in Rutland played for Lincoln Ladies. I went to see a few games. I was surprised to see that the game was played way more brutally than the mens game. They were putting in the sort of tackles we've not seen since the 70s in the mens game. Honestly saw zero feigning injury too, was actually more enjoyable than I expected.
