The ball being out of play for about half an hour is normal. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2011/may/26/premier-league-opta-statistics At Premier League matches on average, the ball was in play for 62.39 minutes this season
Nah, it can't be, there's no other way the apparently mighty Arsenal could not beat little old ****ty Hull City.
Someone has way too much time on their hands, honestly who gives a ****? Its called game management, teams do it to us all the time.
It's more bollocks from the worst set of nu-fans I've ever come across - if the boot was on the other foot .................... blah blah. From a personal point of view, I absolutely loved seeing the Arsenal fans screaming and whinging at our gamesmanship/time wasting, they don't like it up 'em, **** 'em, pity we couldn't have held out for four more minutes and really had 'em wailing.
Another alternative is to have a game clock controlled by another official (maybe the same one that will be in charge of the video replays/manager challenges in the future). Set the clock at 60 mins. 30 mins each half and pause it for every stoppage eg goalkicks, throw-ins, when a goal is scored, etc. Games will still last around 90 odd minutes but will all have the same amount of 'ball in play' time. Then time wasting will be abolished from the game for good.
What a ****. Boo ****ing hoo, the Northern monkeys don't play fair. Hypocritical southern **** stains. Renowned for diving and cheating but they don't see that.
It's brilliant, i can just picture this sad pathetic bitter Arsenal fan getting more and more infuriated as each moment passed for each stoppage we were in control of. Wish i could have seen it myself.
Arsenal fans, along with their manager or maybe because of their manager have long held the belief that all of their opposing teams should play exactly the method and style of football that they want them to. If any team deviates slightly from their preferred style then they, along with their manager whinge and complain that their opponents have ruined the game for them. Apparently it's a written law nowadays that an opposing manager should consult Wenger before Kick-Off so that he can explain the tactics he wants his opponents to employ.
I hope they get beat tonight as well. In fact I hope they fail to get out of the group in the CL full stop. ****houses, the lot of 'em. That includes my brother in law.
He should spend the same amount of time analysing how s**t their defense is. I watched some of the post match interviews with the arsenal fans on youtube and all of them go on about the referee as if that is the determining factor for why they have drawn or lost a game. Even on the game where Chelsea smashed them by 6 they still go on about the referee! Delusional
I was just going to post precisely this. An hour's play is the complete norm in any professional game played around the world. Simple as. Has he never watched a football match before? Plenty of tv channels around the world include a 'ball in play' stat amongst the facts and figures and this would not be seen as exceptional by anyone with half a f**ing clue about football. So in presenting this evidence he's actually ruined his own argument. The twat.
Whilst this clown shoe was sat in from of the telly with the remote in one hand and a stop watch in the other his mrs was probably been seen to by the Northern workmen( yes plural) who are building the extension on their house. That's what I reckon anyway. I've even given them all names.
Wenger needs to get a grip FFS. It has gone on for decades. The Italians as an example were masters of the art.
Interesting that the stats in said Guardian article show Serie A matches had an average of 3 mins more game time than the Premier League.
