The bit in bold and what you previously said about Everton's chances of winning the European Cup doesn't make sense. Everton had just won a European trophy which suggests they were more than able to compete in Europe. They'd also just walked the First Division title, finishing way ahead of team that had recently won 3 European Cups and made another final. The English champions had dominated the European Cup for years. Everything points to the fact that Everton would had the experience and capabilities to win the European Cup. To suggest otherwise is churlish.
