    FULL TIME 2-1 :)

What a great way to bounce back from Saturday, and without 3 first-choice players to boot. Perhaps the squad depth isn't quite as bad as we thought.

Look forward to hearing from those who were there.

We won't win before the Blackpool game eh Eddie? It wasn't the prettiest tonight but everyone put in a shift and with Vetokele and Gudmundsson out we dug in and got a result. The second half seemed to last for an hour and I was getting nervous. Well done to Tucudean and Jackson for the goals. Jackson reminds me of an old car, when you think it is going to conk out it just keeps on going. Buyens got his fifth booking so will be out of Fridays game.

Oooooffff! Never easy at the Valley is it! At 2-0, I was just starting to relax, went out to get a can of London Pride and we conceded a goal. It all ended happily, and really, you have to praise the team for digging in and holding on. Last season, we'd have drawn (or lost) that, so the win is gratefully recieved. But, we do seem to go into our shell too often. Still, glass half full. George scored a great goal by all accounts, JJ just keeps going, and while our defence is'nt watertight, it's way better than last year. We move on, and in mid october, we move on with 22 points. When did we achieve 22 points last season.

Mind you, RD was there last I heard, so I hope he prepares for a loan or two, or a bit of movement in january. If we strengthen, we can move up, and we're on the edge of the play offs now.

Well that was a nice surprise! Best bit was seeing Lennon look dejected as he made his way to the tunnel.

Tucudean has to take the plaudits. It goes back to mentioning motivation. He started to come to life just before his goal, and as soon as he was rewarded - he stepped it up another level. A nice touch by Bob to take him off just before the final whistle in order for him to receive a standing ovation.

What would RD have realised last night? I think (!) that was our lowest attendance this season. The club didn't even pretend we passed the 14k mark. Hopefully, despite our victory, he would have seen we need a lift in the pitch. A dogged display, it was another game where we conceded possession. Do the right thing, Roland. Get the black card out and buy Bob a striker and central midfielder.

A very welcome win, we continue to go great this year. 22 points at this stage is beyond anyone's hopes.

Wouldn't it be ground breaking, if we did actually get a loanee or two in who boosted us no end.

"Tie my kangeroo down sport"...where have you been ?

As for the game....great effort by the defence & keeper. Not such a great effort from the rest of them. I do wonder if questions are getting asked in the dressing room about how every team now gets over 60% possession against us - even the krap ones like Bolton. Still, as DP said, the most important stat is the scoreline 2-1.

    As for last night's crowd - 11,000 <yikes>

I was very pessimistic before the game, so to score 2 excellent goals and take 3 deserved points makes it a great night's work. I really couldn't see where a goal was coming from, George was spending more time on his arse than on the ball, when suddenly he scores a goal like that! We seemed quite comfortable after that, especially when the George created the second goal for Jacko to finish clinically, yet we still ended up at panic stations for the last 15 minutes or so. Bob brought on Fox at wide left to help Wiggins, who was having a difficult time against their no. 7, but Fox isn't really happy in this role and it didn't work any more than when Powell used to pack the team with CB's. Buyens faded towards the end as well, which isn't a first, but hopefully we'll see Cousins take over his role on Friday after his 5th yellow.Ben Haim was my MOM, Wilson and Bikey not far behind. Did anyone predict Tucudean would be our match-winner?

I have been Tucudean's biggest critic, but the way he took the goal showed a good technique. I wish that he would stay on his feet a bit more. Garry Monk the Swansea manager fines his players for diving.

I didn't think he would be our match winner, but was asking for him to be paired with Vetokele (when I assumed he would be fit). Like Dick, I haven't been impressed with him, but we seem to get victories when he's involved. Igor will be hoping he can be his foil when back from injury.

The question now is - would RD have seen enough to agree with Bob we need bodies in the team? Our loans have been naff previously because we've been unable to attract superior quality, they've been squad fillers. If we could get (hypothetically) a Danny Graham then it would be a boost.

Also - a shout has to go out to Henderson. After a shaky couple of games, he's become a standout in every game. Both Saturday and yesterday I was hugely impressed. Feel assured with him between the sticks, and signed on a free, he's a coup.

Gawd help us if Bikey the Beast or Ben Haim (AHLL's favourite player) get injured. Joint POTY at this rate. We need to sign 2/3 proven British Championship standard players in January, no more Bulots & Moussas...

Tucudean reminds me of Paul Hayes. He has lots of good ideas with the ball but frequently his feet aren't able to do what his brain wants them to do. Last night, happily, they were.

I agree with dp about the diving though, I don't like to see Charlton players do it and it's more likely to backfire than to get us anything.

spoke to other charlton fans today and they had the same feeling as i did - we were so bad, it felt like a loss.

we're that team who play spoiling football. the time wasters.

not complaining though, 3 points is 3 points
