Over the past months I have read many "CTWD" members'/supporters'/acolytes' views posted on this forum. The original and prime purpose for the founding of the group was, so I understand, to oppose the name change proposed by Dr Allam. Yes, that issue still ingers and may or may not be resoved in the forseeable future. So now, CTWD has moved on and produced a mini manifesto to proclaim their new vision of "gaining a say" in the running of the club by obtaining a seat on the board. So let me ponder on some of the ramblings of CTWD stalwarts (the very people who want to "represent" tens of thousands of fans and see if they merit my support. At random, here are a few samples of their phiosophy: as posted on this very forum 1. Dr Allam is a c*** and should be ousted by a new (unknown) foreign oligarch; this is the Dr Allam who has pumped millions of pounds into the club to produce the finest football team ever seen to represent Hull. 2. Steve Bruce should be sacked for various unknown offences against the football sensitivies of a proportion of alleged supporters. This is the same Mr Bruce who gave us our first FA Cup final appearance, our first experience of European football and who is establishing us as a potential regular Premier League team. 3. Concerning the proposed name change, we are told by certain CTWD "sympathisers" that they would rather watch Hull CITY play in the Conference than watch Hull TIGERS in the Premier League. Maybe they should follow the example set by certain Manchester United supporters who, in protest at the Glazers, broke away and formed United FC. I am sure that there are council pitches favailable where a yet-to-be-formed "City FC" could play on Saturday afternoons. 4. Other CTWD associates have scorned the idea of being a "mediocre mid table Premier League" team describing the notion as a sell out to corporate big business. Without corporate big business we would be a mediocre mid table League Two team. Originally, I had some sympathy for the views of the CTWD organisation. However, as time has passed and I have witnessed some of the extremist views and ideas posted on this forum by people purporting to be football fans, my views have mellowed. I do not want to see a splinter pressure group claiming to represent me. I am in my sixth decade of support for this club and the last few years have been the most exciting in my footballing eperience. Long may it continue! No doubt my views will earn me a variety of names containing strings of asterisks. All i can reply is ... CTWD, please take your poison esewhere. There is a council football pitch somewhere just waiting for you!
You're right there has been some proper ****e posted on here of late. Whoever posted this, in my opinion, isn't a supporter of the club. They are though, one of many Premier League Whores. The sooner they **** off, the better. "Personally, I wouldnt care if they do an MK Dons on us tonight. All that really matters is the Premier League!"
Those points are regarding me and a select few others. I am not and have never claimed to be a part of the CTWD group or committee, so please give me the credit for my views and not them, like every other thick pro name change **** on this forum.
Ha ha. Some "people" may or may not have done some things. I am purpouted to be "upset" and am going to let the world know via the medium of the "world wide web".
Not totally against CTWD but would sit more comftably with alot more fans even if same views if it was named Citys Supporters Trust or something perhaps instead?.
I think there's potentially a good point here but the original post is incredibly biased and generally terrible
Is the Mark Gretton, Green candidate in the council elections listed here the chairman of City Till We Die (isn't a "till" something money goes into? Shouldn't it be "'til"?) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hull_City_Council_election,_2011 If so, though I have sympathies with The Greens, I see a vote for them as a "wasted" vote ..... I wonder if The Green Party have a view on Mark Gretton's hip-flask ..... if it is the one and and the same "Mark Gretton" ....... anyway ... enough of the trivia .... the big question is .... of course ..... should City get closer to balancing the books by selling Andy Robertson to Arsenal for 10.5 million or hang onto him?
