english isn't your strong point either, is it? did you just not bother reading the statement or did you just guess or did you not understand any of it? it's about aims, not claims. how many do you think they'd need to be a representative sample on topics such as pies or transport arrangements or thoughts on safe standing? or do you think people who objected to the name change and paid their £2 don't have acceptable views on these things.

one thing i've learned from this thread and others like it is that if i ever become suddenly and absurdly wealthy it's all staying in my pocket. there are people around here i wouldn't want anywhere near any football team i owned.

I thought it stood for something like "the gretton internet scandal". I thought you were being witty.

There will be a new supporters trust. It'll consist of the merger between the Tigers Co-op and CTWD. If it is seen to represent large numbers of City supporters it will be seen as a success. If it doesn't it'll fail. Whether its a success or failure will have very little to do with Mike Gretton's hipflask in my opinion.

You do realise 1800 members isn't far off double the size of the next biggest supporters group and in fact is a very big number for a club the size of ours?

It might be a good membership compared to other groups I just expected to be larger.

What utter nonsense. The moment this thread (and others) was created, the conversation was open to one and all, but why the hell shouldn't it be? I am not a member of a secret society, I am (I think) a member of an open and honest campaign group in the process of trying to evolve into a supporters trust. Everything we are discussing is in the public domain (unfortunately) and everything I have posted is nothing more than the type of questions you could expect at any pub table. Flaskgate is an unfortunate aberration that needed (and still does) an immediate form of retraction and contrition; a well meant joke in poor taste. Because of the deafening silence we can only assume that the Chairman neither considers it in poor taste or worthy of contrition and that is a concern for me. The fact that your responses to me are plainly antagonistic and critical of open questioning (which was invited by the committee in opening this special thread) gives me concern for what is said and done behind closed doors. As I said previously, the whole tenet of the evolving CTWD is now giving me pause for thought; like many i joined an anti-name-change campaign group, this progression deserves fresh caution as the nature of your in-the-know responses are not giving me confidence. No more to be said, as we have seen it now.

I am no longer in the know. You're right this thread is for CTWD to respond to whatever questions are asked in the manner they choose. I've made my personal position clear about Mark putting the picture on twitter both on here and on the previous thread.

Thanks to all for the further comments.

Details of the proposed Trust were requested by DMD. The aims and objectives go some way to describe what the proposed short and long term aspirations are. In terms of the constitution that will guide the Trust’s workings, that is currently under development but will be based upon the Supporters’ Direct model trust rules, which can be found along with the SD’s trust handbook using this link - http://www.supporters-direct.org/wiki/index.php?title=Handbook:Introduction

Boothferry2Wembley: CTWD doesn’t have any “power”, it is set up to represent the views of fans. At times we may be ignored by the club, at other times we may be listened to. We are accountable to, and try to express the interests of, our membership. We hope this thread is an example of this. We will be “got rid of” when no-one wants to be a member any more.

Vaslav: we hope to achieve the aims and objectives set out in the OP. The FGM is an excellent conduit for conversations with the club’s marketing manager, but it isn’t achieving any of the aims and objectives in itself, at best it may be an early means to an end. The purpose of this consultation is to garner views on what these ends should be.

SunbeamTiger: we aren’t claiming to represent “the majority of fans”, we can only truly represent the fans that are Trust members, but we hope that direct representation will also help deliver the kinds of things that other City fans might want.

That’s a fair summary. It is for Mark to apologise for the tweet if he wishes, but as he doesn’t post personally on message boards it won’t appear here. The CTWD committee doesn’t wish to apologise for, nor endorse, Mark’s tweet because it wasn’t issued on our behalf. Mark was the architect of CTWD’s “support Allam, oppose name change” position, despite what a hipflask given to him by a friend might say, and we remain certain that it is still his belief.

It might be a dumb question but what's the difference between what you want to become and the official supporters club ?

Thanks for this frank and honest positioning statement. A clearing of the air is needed and no more than that, as a volunteer body requires wriggle room to adapt to their responsibilities. It was the tweet that was the folly, so a tweet in contrition is, in my opinion, adequate to move on - civility must be restored from the top down. As we all know, it is an easy thing for that tweet to be copied onto here. This was not some heinous crime, it was an error of judgment; something to be put right, as it was wrong, unnecessary and will prove to be a dusty cannonball if left unaddressed.

This thread was a good idea; I have used it to voice my concerns of ignoring the obvious elephant in the CTWD lounge, so my hope is this can be dealt with correctly in the following 24hrs. This is going to be a learning curve for everyone at the club and on the terraces, it is important these type of issues are not dealt with in the dark, there is too much oversight from all aspects of opinion. Thanks again for your candour in this response. <ok>

I've started to collect hip flasks.

    I've got 3.

My bestest one has an inscription of 'Remy Martin' on it. I bought it because I have a penchant for pint sized, defensive midfielders with afro style hair, especially if they come from Miles Platting.

My favourite one should have been an England regular IMO.He was a frizzy haired, pocket sized dynamo was our Remy.

Why any **** would make hip flasks with his name on is beyond me though.

    Makes no sense.

Change your name from CTWD then u may gain some respect....and who knows..perhaps u can grow from there?...half the pro CTWD guys on here just offensive ****ers out for a fight on the name change thing...if thats your manifesto in a nutshell?...then so be it...but dont expect everyone to fall in line cos alot of us are rather enjoying nearly beating the Arse on their own turf etc etc...thanks to the Allams :)
