I take on board your reply sir.

Why should Jenkins think of Koeman as contentious?Did he interview him?

IMO,two words made up Jenkins mind......"cheaper option"

Roof - games played over virtually the same time period. League Cup matches also played at basically the same time. Obviously, last season we also played Europa League matches. As for injuries and suspensions, not sure to be honest.

If my memory serves me well, many posters on here - on both sides of the Laudrup/Monk "debate" - were prepared to wait and judge over the first 10 PL games; still 2 games to go before we reach that stage.

Last season, after 10 games we had 11pts. The year before, 12pts. In our first season, we also had 12pts.

It's a game we'd be expected to win and we will be favourites.

Personally I worry more about those than the other ones!

Leicester will fancy their chances of getting something from the fixture.

We could do worse than Moyes. I remember last season around the start of December I started talking with my brother saying that Laudrup could come under pressure soon. Not willing him out, but performances and results up to that point were poor and we'd lost the derby. After almost 2 months of further poor performances, it wasn't a surprise that he was let go, for me. The entire season had been underwhelming. I'm starting to get the same feeling about Monk now. Not that I want him to fail, but the performances don't seem to be coming and the results aren't coming either. I'm seeing a lot of parallels to last season, and if it continues up to Christmas, we could see another board intervention.

If I were the board and Moyes became available, I would be giving him a ring to find out if he'd be interested. If he is, I'd have a word with Monk to see if he fancied stepping down and becoming part of the coaching team, learning off an experienced manager. No matter what people say about Moyes, and no matter how bad things got at United, he was still manager for Everton for over a decade, stabilised them in the top 7 and we never beat him while he was there. Not only did we never beat him, we never saw much of the ball either.

It's an option, but only if he's interested. The board should privately ask him, and if not, nobody should know that we ever enquired.

Up till Dec 1 we were in terrific shape on track for a 50 point season I think .It was the december 15 game , when we lost 3 first team players that things started going wrong .Players were dropping like flies as we played almost all top teams over a concentrated period of time.

This^ .theres no disgrace in putting your hands up and saying I need help , personal pride may prevent it though which will be a shame ,I hope I'm wrong for all his faults Monk has defended the Club / players and more than anything it'll be his lack of experience which will ultimately be his downfall, if he cannot turn not only the results but performances into positives soon then all the good will and support he's had to date will soon dissolve .A role too soon perhaps but it's not too late to take a step back and get himself and the Club back on track .imo

Moyes as number 1 with Monk as his assistant would be a great fit as Moyes would solve the second half conundrum, sort us out defensively and in midfield and Monk could support Moyes in making sure we keep our passing philosophy. Forget Moyes at Utd, Van Gaal has spent 200 million and is struggling just as badly, mix our first halls under Monk with the way Everton played for 90mins under Moyes and what a team we could be. Monk can then also learn with regards to substitutions and tactical changes etc under Moyes, a la Giggs under LVG.

The difference between Van Gaal & Moyes is money , Van Gaal went out and spent a staggering 150 million before the end of the window ,and they're no better now as a team than they were before , De Maria who wouldn't want him in your side .Moyes has experience good management skills when not having to deal with prima donnas which cost him his job at Utd, we don't have that sort of changing room , he made Everton hard to play against, used a system which suited his players strengths ..I'd prefer Monk as number 1 but I wouldn't be sorry to see him here with Monk as his Number 2 either .

I think many Swans fans would agree with that. Expectations far too high at Man U imo. Moyes is a canny manager who has repeatedly out-thought our managers in the past. Monk may still prove us wrong but at the moment he looks like he's struggling.

I agree with everything except what I have highlighted! We are playing far better football than under Laudrup, and our game is more fluid and far more effective in the final third under Monk, the only issue is we are not finishing off our chances, how many times has Routledge hit the woodwork this season, against Stoke he tripped over the ball, instead of burying it? Ki should have buried the ball too, if it wasn't for Dyer we would really be in trouble, Bony needs to focus more on his finishing also. Finally I do not understand this dropping off second half of games, this and Monks late subs are costing us!.............<ok>

PS: There is just the need to resolve these two issues and we will be flying.

The idea we will play ""the swansea way"" because of Monks hand in it is a bit of a laugh valley .We look far from the""Swansea Way"" since Monk took over .Possession disapating , hoofball becoming more regular.Losing our shape is a regular occurance these days under Monk..Hope he can get things back on track against leicester,Monk needs a good win more than even the club needs one

That's what I was getting at. LVG is repairing Moyes reputation with each passing game.

They must only show second halfs in Canada then. We have been superb in the first halfs under Monk, playing some breathtaking stuff. Second halfs have been a different matter though, one of which, I believe Moyes could sort out with the help of Monk.

Not sure I follow you? I was stating that Jenkins has had enough of our previous contentious managers in Sousa and Laudrop, and wanted a hassle free break by appointing from within, someone who would do things the Swansea way, Monk was a ready made choice, of course he was cheaper as well, something good old Huw always likes...........<cheers>
