8k funds I was not impressed with the 1 series before they changed in 2012, but it depends on what model, a m sport is nice and probably better on fuel than the other two. Plus it's got the added bonus of more than two seats I don't know much about the Porche but probably dear on parts. And as my wife says probably something wrong with it for that price. Audi TT dear to run and can be a hard drive. I would be looking at a Golf for 8k or Audi A3
Got 8k to spend on the car and quite a lot left to run/maintain it so that wont be a problem. I was thinking about a golf but its 4th choice behind the above! I'm a fan of the Audi though! there are so many on the market so easier to get a good deal.
I like the 1 series but found the older versions behind the A3 for what they are. One thing to remember about the BMW is unless it's the upgraded stereo its ****. Mine and the Mrs versions have the basic stereos and it struggles to get radio bristol in Bristol, drive me insane. But had one when mine went in for repairs with the professional edition and that was like being in a nightclub.
I rarely listen to the radio, if i do its usually kiss or radio 1. Most of the time though i'll be listening to my jake bugg/johnny cash/ Royal blood/Arctic Monkeys/Oasis/The Verve CDS! spoilt for choice there!
I'll be moving to cornwall in the not to distant future so won't be worried about parking at city. Will have to take the train when i want to watch the reds!
No but I do like them, driving quite a few Audi's and never been disappointed. And why Cornwall, you ought to get a beetle and go surfing.

I have a TT sport and its actually quite cheap to run, had a new 320 when the TT was in for crash repair and didn't like it. I love my TT its my second. Just paid Bath audi £300 for a major and interim service. If you don't drive it like a twat you get over 40mpg. 0-60 in just over 6 seconds and a top speed of 153. Yeah i am an older driver but just over £300 fully comp, you won't do better mate
