I agree it's frustrating. I think the raw ingredients are there for us to be title challengers. I bugs the hell out of me that we never seem to take that next step that we need to and we seem to repeat the same mistakes. But I am an optimist and I love my team, I'll never lose my passion. I'm a million miles away from giving up before we've even started, you might as well not even bother if that's the case. We might well end up scrapping for 4th again, but I'll be going into every game believing that we can win it and I'll be on the floor when we lose. For me supporting my team is about supporting them when the chips are down as well as when we're winning.

But sure as the hell, the team go into certain games believing they can't win it. Away to Chelsea, for example. And that's the problem. Wenger can't no longer inspire his team into believing they can do something big.

Don't agree with that. I though we were much better against Chelsea, albeit with the same frustrating result. We were as good as them until the pen and we had more possession throughout the game. It's the key moments that cost us and our lack of cutting edge to force the issue. But I don't believe that the team went into that game believing that they couldn't win it.

we were average. Defending in numbers, but offering next to nothing on the break. Chelsea had us where they wanted us, and slowly but surely killed us off. If the team believed they could win these big games, then our record won't be as bad, because they have the talent. Hammerings after hammering take their toil on the players and manager. They do not TRULY believe, no way. Wenger can't inspire **** all.

Wasn't it something like no shots on target until the 91st minute against Chelsea? If Arsenal can beat anyone on their day, then when will their day be against Mourinho? The Arsenal of old could threaten anyone, the Arsenal of now threatens no-one in the Top4, and only occasionally in the Top6. They are also-rans and will be until someone is in charge who can inspire and drill this group of individuals into a team.

We lacked a cutting edge, but there was a moment where Wilshere was through and but for a heavy touch he probably would have scored. It could have been a different outcome, but I can't disagree that ultimately Chelsea had us where they wanted us. We didn't offer anywhere near enough in attack, which is concerning as we've made some good additions up front.

Ah well, **** it it could be worse. We could be Man Utd.

The players are not thick. They are probably aware of Wenger's record against Jose, and that type of **** plays it's part in a build up to a big game. That plus our abysmal record in those big games are a huge obstacle to get over. I think a change of voice and ideas are the only way we can get back to competing in these big games.

Never judge yourself against others, judge yourself against that which you know you are capable of.

Yeah it's about time you dropped out of the top 4.
It's time for somebody else to have that place. :emoticon-0131-angel

If a season in the Europa League means we get rid of Wenger, then so be it.

Each to their own. Personally I think it's ****ing crazy to hope that we finish outside of the top 4

It takes a shock to the system to change the status-quo. If we finish 4th again, i can pretty much guarantee that we'll be in the same position next year, and the year after that. If we fail to make the top 4, then almost by default things have to change, i can't see the majority of the fanbase being happy about playing in the EL.

If Wenger's still in charge we'd find a way to screw it up somehow.

And if we end up playing Spursday night football then the shock to the system will be that the players we need to attract won't come to us.

Players are more interested in money than european football. Look at all the players Utd signed and they don't have any european football.

    Cynical.

And there's no way we're going to be bribing a Falcao on £350k per week if we're playing Spursday night football.

I think if a manager can pitch a vision to a player, then they'll join. Hypothetically speaking, if we get Klopp, players will want to play for him, and even if we go a season without CL football, with our resources and a hungry manager, we'd still be a tempting prospect for top players.

That's assuming that Wenger would sign the right players for the team if they were available, which is highly unlikely. Arsenal without Wenger would be a lot more attractive than the pointless, sideways passing, low-penetration, non-team that's out there at the moment.
