If I remember rightly, after the 1-5, we went on a great run, 1 loss in 10 or summat like that.

I loss in 10 at the minute and we'd be in a great place.

Hard to comprehend that we'd only conceded 7 all season.

Listen mate, nee offence meant here but worse things happen.
We loose those that we love due to terrible diseases, war, pit work.
Can't bring them back can we?
We lost a football match very heavily. So what?
We move on & get on with life.
In the grander scheme of things it means nowt man.
    Get ower it.

That's great advice from Billy <ok>

It's also free advice....but only if you can put it into use.

I've learnt that as soon as the final whistle goes, there's nowt you can do about it so there's not much point in worrying.

Both relegation and the mags loss felt worse than this to me.

This is a blip, an anomaly and a wake up call. Nowt to worry about.

    Well indeed.
Maybe I've mellowed a little over time.
Actually, I'll be honest with you mate, I've even surprised myself how easily I've took this defeat.

I will always love SAFC but there are people in my life I love more.

Saints an in peace. Lots of saints fans have been on the phone ins praising Sunderland fans for a great response to the game. In addition, just seen mannone praising them and the club - you guys will be fine - great club with proud tradition and support. Good luck against the arsenal. We all need to stick together against the so called big four.

It was one of the most difficult football days I can remember, I hardly said a thing all day afterwards. Had half of a litre bottle of whisky and it didn't help, didn't even get drunk really.

I don't really want to sound like a drama queen but I think it will stick with me for a while, it was 8-0 for ***** sake that just doesn't happen. I thought we were a decent solid team but now that seems way off the mark. A decent team doesn't get ripped apart time and time again by, no offence, Southampton.

I have to say I admire the lads on here who've shrugged it off, I could have done with a 5 or 6 but I'm struggling with an 8. It's only a game but it's the only game I genuinely care about.

From across enemy lines Saturday was a lot of fun. I did have a chuckle after it got to 4 or 5 and then as each goal went in. But that's all it was - a chuckle.

On Sunday morning, despite our win, you' were still one place above us, we were still in the bottom three and in turmoil, and the teams that got beat 1-0 still got the same number of points from their game as you did. I'll have a proper laugh about the 8-0 once/if we're above you and out of the bottom three. Until then all we're doing (as Somb said) is deflecting our own pain for a few happy hours.

Next week everyone will be laughing at someone else - and recent form suggests that there's more than a fair chance that will be us!

I'd have to agree there seeing as it was Southampton and not one of the so called bigger clubs. Gotta hurt.

Well you're off the hook cos it was 9-0 so no technicalities needed. 9-0 beats 8-0 every time! <ok>

Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 9-0 too. Our own 8-0 was when we were bottom so think that was worse for Sheffield Wednesday. Saturday is getting further down the list of shame all the time.

    Edit: I know Liverpool's was pre-prem but football didn't start in 92 <ok>

You sound just like a Liverpool fan!

I'm not prepared to share anything with Liverpool, the 9-0 vs Ipswich results stands alone as the biggest victory this league has ever seen.

Thanks for the kind words mate. Good luck for the rest of the season, not that you'll need it with that team and manager you've got!
