Hard to disagree with any of that Potter. As I said in a previous post - I don't look at the forums until I have had a good couple of hours post match to calm down. Have called refs all the names going from my seat at the Liberty during a game, only to feel a little embarrassed when watching the match again on MotD! Two well matched teams today (but was a little shocked by Garry's post match interview - think he may get into a little bit of trouble for that!) Think the ref was quite poor, and got both pens wrong - think Shawcross's reputation was in the back of his mind for our penalty - and the crowd led to him awarding yours! But the decisions evened themselves out over the course of the game - Monk is still a rookie and I think emotion got the better of him post match; think he may be sitting in the stand for the next game, but he is a decent guy and will hopefully learn from it! The most disappointing thing for me was that we couldn't cope with the physical aspect of the game (and that is not a sleight against Stoke - footie is a contact sport and we have to man up!) We got bullied off the ball too often - we need to grow some balls, we won't always be able to pass around teams, sometimes we will need to scrap for points! Were missing Shelvey and Britton and, as a result, our midfield was a little lightweight - sacrificing Gylfi, even though he went a little quiet in the second half, left us wanting in the middle. Was screaming for someone to man mark Adams - IMO he was your MotM, we gave him far too much space and paid for it! But believe Swansea and Stoke will be OK this season - we both, hopefully, have too much quality to get into any serious trouble, but will be hoping to reverse the result at the Liberty. So good luck in all games apart from that one!
Keep your shirt on, I was asking a question, not stating a fact you dipstick, here's the clue '?'....................
As per your statement, I was just "reminding" you of your inaccuracy! I think we all know that your ? was not for clarification but to make a point, which just happened to be wrong, confirming that you obviously don't have a "clue"! Shirt firmly attached, Rodney!
I have had the opportunity of studying a snapshot of the incident. It is on the cover of today's Mirror Football Supplement. It cannot be doubted that it is a snapshot of the incident being debated here. It shows plainly that Moses was fouled. In this case "The Foul" is a conclusion the referee came to by witnessing the illegal use of the hand of Rangel to grab the Stoke man's shirt in order to prevent his progress towards the goal. A sudden tug of the shirt will abruptly affect the player's momentum and send him off balance , this meant Moses had the advantage unfairly taken away , and the only action he could take was to go to ground. The ref. was correct on this occasion. He was pretty poor on numerous occasions , I hope this was not one of his better games. It is ironic that Monk was castigating the ref. while it was the Stoke Faithful who were singing You're not fit to referee . We have witnessed many times debates relating to actions concerning both penalties. These actions are not new nor are they reserved for only some teams . No one can defend cheating , and cheating should be punished. However , I have to believe that referees are making decisions that they believe to be correct. Referees are human , and with that are capable of making mistakes. If we believe that referees are deliberately giving favour to one side , then we might as well stop watching. I don't think Monk was wise the way he "blew his top" , but it was good to hear him asking for an improvement in standards , well good luck with that , although it's what we all want.
Yes indeed...but Monk should have referred to Bony's cheating. He obviously has the 'Wenger' disease which I believe is incurable.
I have seen a diiferent angle of the challenge by Rangel and it shows him pulling Moses down by the shirt so it was a PENALTY according to the letter of law just as the Swansea penalty was definite penalty for me. I hope Ryan learns from it.
I seriously doubt you're studying a PhD in English literature! As there are too many grammatical errors in that post for you to convince anyone! Also I seriously doubt anyone who's enriched by higher education would be so childlike. Now run along you silly little boy!
Moses dived like a fairy, that much is obvious, there was hardly any contact from Rangel, so stop trying to make it legit, on the other hand it takes some doing to pull Bony over, and full marks for your back line playing Rugby, nailed on penalty. Anyway you have had your three points from us, and we'll have them back at our place for sure!...................
Stop making excuses, do you always try to worm when getting it wrong? Should have gone to Specsavers. Maybe it's having that miserable Welsh git as a manager that has got to you aye................
Now now Jack, Nobody needs to make excuses. I suggest you move on. You will have a chance against Leicester next weekend but be sure they will put 1o behind the ball at every opportunity
A draw would have been a fair result but that does not excuse moses doing a tom daily impression. He is a good player and was a thorn in our side all game so i was disappointed to see a player of his caliber resort to cheating. The ref was the worst i have seen this season and should never be a premiership ref and i know stoke fans agree as they too booed him off at half time. Stoke scored a good goal in the end that would have deserved a draw but no way the 3pts. The game was hard fought and stoke got the decision but what comes around goes around and next time it could happen to stoke.
Aw shucks swan and only...ye sussed me out. Cheerio...its bedtime and my cocoa is getting cold. Don't let the bed bugs bite
Stoke and they re fans are the most in tune with each other in the entire leagues. When Stoke got a spot kick from a pitiful dive , they tried to sway the ref every possible chance after Shouldnt try to be ars@eholes .. just let it happen naturally
I thought Monks comments post game were ironic given that Hughes often bemoans the fact that decisions often go against Stoke. A draw would have been fair, but that's not football is it? We deserved to get something from the Villa game and Leicester games but didn't because we didn't take our chances. Likewise, we fluked the Man City win after a game of stout defending but just the one goal nicked. It was a soft penalty for Moses but I'll take it because there will be many others deserved that we won't get. I will add that I wasn't this sanguine after the Villa or Leicester game. It's certainly easier to accept the weirdness of this game we love from the (fortunate) winning side. Good luck for the rest of the season Swans
Are you that thick that you honestly think I'm making excuses? I was pointing out your own feeble excuse after your own goal of mistake whilst trying to be funny. Just because you put a ? after your statement or a funny symbol doesn't excuse you for being a prick!
I suggest you all read Monk's comments regarding Hugo Flores 're after the WHam game ... I found it online so y'all take a look. He is one hypocritical son of a ***** I would love to hear what the Swans fans think of this report too. For the record Flores got Andy Carroll sent off, but it's what MONK SAID ABOUT THAT which made me want to puke. And smack the two faced t**t Look up the Independent online news, you will find it there.
