Now we've got a few quid is it worth spending on him or not.
I cannot find anything to say he's agreed a deal elsewhere. I read that Hull are willing to let him go free if his wages are matched and I understand we cannot pay those wages, but we could perhaps find a way of paying him an amount to match it.
45,000 a week equates to 2.3 million therefore with no signing fee we could pay him 10-15 grand a week and make up the rest in bonuses and appearances.
    Win Win situation.....

Wasn't he our best player...? Could we get anything better for 2.3 million..? I haven't seen much better...

He is a bullshitter and a money grabber!

I would rather spend money on a hungry up and coming player than someone with dodgy knees likely to spend more time on the physio's bench than on the pitch! Yes he helped save our bacon last season but we need to move on. Let him go to a club like QPR who will pay him the huge amount he's after.

If no-one else touches him then move for another season long loan from Hull. That's probably the best that they and Jimmy can hope for. I can't believe the mugs signed him on a 4 year 45k a week deal, near criminal behaviour. Who in their right minds would match that for a 32 year old with past chronic knee injuries?

I'm with JWM, One day he was saying how much he loved the club and the fans, Next he was whoreing himself off to every club under the sun including the budgies. If he comes here it will need to be us dictating the terms, not him!

Have to agree with the majority here, and that is no thanks... If he was still worth anything (Money or fitness wise), would he have been snapped up by now... Yes he was our best player last year (Even though he was only with us for half a season), but with no disrespect to any of our players, there was not a lot to beat!... Maybe I am wrong, but I think not

Thats why I suggested wages in line with everyone else and make the rest up with bonuses and appearance money.
We still haven't got a midfield player with his skill and foresight and yes, we may have signed capable strikers but if they don't get the ball there's no point.
We need someone with his craft and certainly with his deadball skills or do we let Grant start taking them again.
I say give him a go if we can...
Whats the worst that can happen ????????

I agree with Cheddy, he was the player who turned our season around. When he was out injusred, or rested, you could clearly see he was missed!

And it's not just the quality of his football that he can bring, its morale and high spirits to the club as well!

I think its worth the gamble, he's still a quality player!

On the same deal as his last loan spell I would say yes, I wouldn't throw more money than that at bringing him in though.

he was fantastic last season, an absolute no brainer even if we pay him a lot.

we had counago + lisbie out on loan last season wasting money, also Martin out at the start of it. Thats a lot down the toilet.

Would be a cracking signing, providing he stays fit.

I think we need to move on from jimmy, he wants too much money, injury prone and has seventies porno hair. He'll of a player though and don't get me wrong , I like the porno hair.

This smells of the Gio saga all over again.... I agree with JWM that we need to find younger players, but I think it's fair to say not one player stands out, other than the likes of Andy King.... Never gonna want to come our way. So in reality he is still a (barely) feasible option. I do agree with a lot of the other posters that this should be left to run and if no one has signed him by August he has the choice of our place or the bench at Hull. Definitely not worth us 'going all out for' and should be a last option (if still available) in my opinion.

The guy is a complete ****er, he declared his desire to sign for the interbred scum which showed his true colours (The colours of the team that will give him the most money)

Steer well clear, save our money and get someone in that will wear the Town shirt with pride!!

Well I think he did wear our shirt with pride Spanish. The only player who bothered vs Norwich at home, the player who won supporters player of the season after so few games,,,, I think he tried his guts out.

However, your right if he goes to Norwich my opinion of him will RAPIDLY change !!!!

    Time will tell hey ?!

A year of bully will repay itself ten fold if we ended up in the premier league.

    Speculate to accumulate.
