Monk is not getting much support from "studio experts" on the tv coverage over here. There are some fundamental problems with the team at the moment. We can play great stuff and control matches - but we run out of steam too quickly. We lose focus. We don't correct from the touchline during a match. We are not correcting during the week in practice. This is no longer a trend but settling in as a bad habit.
Given the row of results against the teams we've played and the teams coming up my glass is definitely half empty.
Agree. This is where Monk is struggling badly atm as it is going tits up second half time and time again atm.
Not sure what the experts are saying - Sparky has a lot of friends - but the Irish channel I watched on had the studio fully behind the Swans and said Monk should make his feeling very clear to the officials at the end of the game. They also though Bony should have had a second penalty and Stoke could have had tree players sent off!
But we're only 4 points out of the bottom three with a brutal series of games to come. We booted Laudrup with the schedule the other way around. We're going to have to be much better than this to avoid being in the **** zone at the end of November.
On a positive, we'll have a few "pressure off" games against "better" opposition where, for once, the opponents will be expected to win. We've always been better underdogs. I still think we'll pick up points in November. In fact, I reckon we'll probably have a better November than October. Although, just one win would probably do that.
On a different note, Crouch really has become a Class A Dickhead since moving to Stoke. Whining, lanky bastard.
I agree. This is a recurrent problem. You can see our shape change every time we go ahead. Moses dived for penalty but should not have been near our box. Unfortunately we also seem to have repeatedly poor second half performances. When we go ahead and got teams under pressure we need to keep pushing forward but we sit back and slow down. In the second half when Stoke came out well, we needed to get hold of the ball and then slow things down to take the sting out of them but start giving the ball away with risky passes. I am afraid our game management is poor. Team capable of playing really well but subs and game management poor.
We lost because we didn't compete, not because of a ref's decision. Most ref's wouldn't have given us the penalty. Some ref's wouldn't have given them one. But these were two moments in the game that evened out. The game is played for 90 minutes and we didn't play with the effort we should have for anywhere near 90 minutes. This is our problem.
their second goal was well taken, poor defending?? dunno but it was a good goal. bony is a toss with some tackles he makes, another chico I think.
But even in the 30 minutes that we did play well, we still could have been 3-0 up if we could have taken our easy, and I reiterate 'easy', chances.
Agreed. Should have been in front half time by two at least. This second half crumble is a Monk and was a Laudrup problem.
I agree on Crouch. 6 foot 7 and when he can't bully or muscle his way into winning a contest he's bitching to the ref. Grow a ****ing pair you lanky tool.
