A really bad news day.

We all knew that there would be movement of players and staff when MM departed, but I don't think that any of us imagined for one moment that the numbers he has taken could be this high. It reminds me of the remarks about BR only knowing players in the Chelski reserve team.

Having seen a player turn us down for a league 1 team, you have to start to wonder if our plan to balance the books is sustainable. Our wage bill at the moment cannot be large in comparison with others, so how many experienced players that we will really need can we sign? We can only assume that the latest exodus comes about by people wishing to better thier finances. How low down the leagues do we have to go to find people that will see Watford as a pay rise?

 

Danny Graham has gone to Swansea City; Malky Mackay, three backroom staff and now Don Cowie have gone to Cardiff City. I looked down the league and eventually found Wrexham. Will we be losing players to them also?

 

I can understand why the English dislike the Scottish after hearing Andy Murray speak about England and Britain, seeing what Malky Mackay is doing to an English football club and the politic of the Scottish parliament.

 

We don't!!! Until I lived here I had not an ounce of animosity for the Scots. Living here I have learnt that there is a lot of resentment of the English by the Scots which I take as a great compliment, its founded in history and the fact that they feel robbed/opressed by the English. The truth is that the British aristocracy opressed the Scots, the Irish, the Welsh and most of all the English so actually its a common history and we should all just enjoy the banter. I don't like the Murrays of this world who refuse to accept their Britishness and as such I stick them in a pigeonhole of "racist twats". I also dislike Malky but in the same vein as Rodgers so its nothing to do with race, I like straight honest principled people. As for the Scotish parliament I've had the pleasure of personal meetings with Alex Salmond and hes a good egg, great sense of humour and far more down to earth/honest than the majority of those weasels in westminster.....
